I think this is the movie I saw on HBO or something onetime and I'd love to see it again. It's one of those movies that's so "musical corny" that it's hilarious and I found myself watching the whole thing unexpectedly. It was so enjoyable. If it's the right movie that I'm thinking of they dance around a whole theme park and there's a "bad boy" with hair slicked back etc, but he just really want's to dance! Some elements are very similar to Hairspray which would be an alternative to check out if you haven't seen that yet. This was less "contrived/intentional" humor though. It was just a really sweet, 80's feel modern musical. I really wish I could get a hold of it and confirm this is the right movie, but it seems you can't even buy it anywhere. It's surprising you can't get it because the amazing cast alone should be enough for distributors to snatch it up. Certainly cult film buffs.
