COMMENT: Although the U.K. censor has seen fit to give this CinemaScope short a Universal Exhibition certificate, it is certainly not a movie for the squeamish.
A detailed account of the trapping and slaughtering of schools of tuna by Sicilian fishermen, it is deftly presented in a remarkably direct fashion which gains added impetus by the skillful use of CinemaScope.
True, the forcefulness of this one-reel short feature, is slightly undermined by an off-camera commentary (in English) that insults our intelligence by drawing attention to things we can all too plainly see for ourselves.
Perhaps the Italian version is less verbose?
