While Frodo and Sam edge closer to Mordor with the help of the shifty Gollum, the divided fellowship makes a stand against Sauron's new ally, Saruman, and his hordes of Isengard.
Aragorn's basic costume is changed slightly in this film, compared to the previous one. He wears the leather wrist gauntlets of Gondor, which he took from Boromir's body, to honor his fallen comrade.
Pippin: Than what?
Merry: Than *me*!
Pippin: I've always been taller than you.
Merry: Pippin, everyone knows *I'm* the tall one. *You're* the short one.
Pippin: Please, Merry. You're what, three-foot-six? At the most? Whereas me, I'm pushing three-seven, ...
When the main characters are standing on the cliff looking out towards Mordor, you can see Helm's Deep over their shoulders. The hole in the wall from the gunpowder is conspicuous by its absence.
Just like the previous "Lord of the Rings" movie, there are no opening credits after the title has been shown.
