  • Hanna (Keli Daniels) is a youngish widow with four children. The two girls and two boys find an elephant one day in their backyard! It has escaped from a man whose aim was to provide the creature as big game to a millionaire hunter. Now, she is safe, at least for the moment, as the family lives on a larger lot at the edge of civilization. Mother, of course, does not know of Malaika's (the kids name for her) existence. But, not for long! When a private zoo owner arrives, he (Greg) tells the family to keep her, as it is a good hiding place away from the bad guys until arrangements can be made for the elephant to return to Africa. Will the plan work? This is a very cute movie for families to enjoy together. The elephant is a darling and has a host of tricks up her sleeve, or nose, as it is. The kids are mischievous but, it's all harmless fun as would be suitors arrive from time to time to court Hanna. There is a romance, also, for those mothers and/or dads who will be watching the film with the kids. The California setting is cheery and the supporting actors quite capable. Find it at the video store or library and sit back and giggle!
