good intentions
one of many Romanian films after 1989 with the status of exorcism against the shadows of the past. only sin - the easy manner to show complex realities. the mix of vulgarity and stereotypes are tools for a kind of improvisation. and, maybe, the only virtue is the presence , in an exotic role , of the great writer Fănuș Neagu. it is not difficult to say why "Crucea de Piatră" remains expression of good intentions of Andrei Blaier. or, only, the expression of his frustrations. for a Romanian middle age viewer, it is not surprising the choice of grotesque tones for describe the reality after the Communist regime birth. but the regret remains. for a chance too easy ignored to create a great fresco about the new era.
