  • and I'm inclined to agree.HeliCops isn't a good action series,it isn't exciting or intriguing as an action series should be.But it's hilariously funny. They say there are no German humor, this is just not true.Just take a look at HeliCops or Cobra 11 if you don't believe me. It has it's unintentional(I suppose)qualities like a bad Chuck Norris-movie.

There's just something with the platinum blonde guy playing the lead role,stone-faced like Schwarzenegger(probably his idol)that will lift your spirit whenever you feel low,if not in the way it was originally intended by the creators,so what? The British are the European masters of TV-series.And for a good reason. But I'm still sure HeliCops will be remembered,if not for quality so at least for it's uninhibited intentions of trying to be a true American-style action series, with absolutely no self-criticism.We need more of that kind of humor!
  • I followed this series from the beginning, mostly because I love flying, and flying a helicopter is my dream. But I also liked the series because of its idea and actors. Sometimes the scenes were rather rough - I don't think it'd be a good idea in the real life to shoot first and ask questions later - but it's also nice every now and then just to look at series like this, action, I mean. I love the actors in this, they're more personal than in some American made series. And it's fun to watch all the famous places in Berlin. :)

All in all, this is probably best series I've seen in a while, it has got beautiful helicopter, charming pilot and several jokes I laughed for hours.
  • I've seen an episode from the TV and the scale of emotion it brought me deserves some feedback. I would say the ridiculous time it was on air was due age of the series, but when I saw the content, I was no longer sure about it.

The story lingers about the super hyper helicopter that is too ridiculous to be considered real and too lame for a made up concept. Just to introduce, it shoots lasers, can x-ray things remotely in any angle and packs two spaceship-like eject-able throttles for cases it could come in handy.

In the episode I've watched, there was a tactical unit that acted like line of clowns under influence. Their remote chief commander with headset on looked like he's wondering what type of pizza topping he should order, and the evil guys were ridiculous as well.

I would give it 2 or 3 for effort if at least visual effects and cuts were OK, but they weren't. I'm voting it 1 for awful because there's not a more appropriate voting mark like 0 - mentally and visually disastrous.
  • Germany just keeps on influencing European culture. Wagner, Brecht, and now "HeliCops"!

"Airwolf" or "Blue Thunder" it's not but then again there will be only one Airwolf and Blue Thunder, it is however OK fun. I mean, what other show would give you a chase-scene between a scooter and a CGI super-helicopter in downtown Berlin!? The scripts are often in the "A-Team" and "Bionic Woman"-mold but the special-effects are surprisingly good so like I write in my summary: it is silly, but never without charm or entertainment value.

    But I still miss "Derrick".
  • This is not a silly show after all.Why should we not produced a series like AIRWOLF.We can and its a better show. Why? The series is set in the late 90s.The CGI Effects are great for a german TV Series. Christoph Michael Orth(Highlander Season 1/Episode"Revenge is sweet" as Reinhardt) as Charly Von Schumann is the Heart of the Series. 3 Seasons(36 episodes) speak for himself. Maybe the pilot movie is not the best, but a new series have to develop ,it with every series. Its fun to see the series Do not compare the seires with the old boring Derrick Series. Derrick was a seriously Series not a Sci/Fi Action series Check out the new "animated" Derrick Movie[2004]

    So enjoy Helicops!
  • German Action-TV-Series were very appointing a long time. But then, they created this Series and I have to say: very nicely done !!! This Series is till the now the most expensive project which has been created for German TV. And You will see where they spent this money: Great special effects and great action- & stunt scenes. Okay, not all episodes had a good story, but they were all very entertaining. And of course they put one of Germany's greatest actors in the leading role: Christoph M. Ohrt. We want more German-TV-Series like this ...
