| A bit labored but has it's good moments, too
Sarah (Kyra Sedgwick) and Ryan (Rob Morrow) have broken things off after a long relationship. However, Sarah is pregnant and makes the decision not to tell Ryan. At the moment Sarah goes in to labor, her parents rush to her side and someone knowingly informs Ryan. When Ryan dashes into the fray, humor and discord come along. What kind of situation is Baby X coming into? Sedgwick and Morrow are touching and ticklish in their roles as parents to be. Mary Tyler Moore and Robert Klein, as Sedgwick's parents, alternate between amusing and exasperating. The script has oodles of possibilities but just can't quite gel into a winning result. Nevertheless, for those who love romantic comedies with mayhem, this film is an non-painful and diverting way to spend a rainy afternoon.
