The original Broadway production of "Picnic" by William Inge opened on February 19, 1953 at the Music Box Theater, ran for 477 performances and won the Pulitzer Prize in Drama in 1953.
The closing credits incorrectly switched the roles played by Jennifer Jason Leigh and Morgan Englund. In addition, Rue McClanahan's name and role is not listed in the closing credits. The cast list posted is from the opening credits.
