It is now almost two years since the plug was pulled on the live-action iteration of the iconic animated series, and while there was outcry from Powerpuff Girls fans everywhere at the time, the only crying going on now is tears of joy that the “god-awful” series never saw the light of day.

Take a trip back to 2020, when the first word of a live-action Powerpuff Girls series was revealed to a reasonable level of excitement. The following year, the lead trio of Chloe Bennett, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault were cast as older versions of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, respectively, and a script by Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier was in place for the pilot episode.

Millennials around the world must remember how awesome Powerpuff Girls was. The animated show used to rule kids’ hearts for a healthy part of the early 2000s. While that generation has all grown up, it wouldn’t have come as a shock that the show would have many takers.

A so-called trailer for The CW’s canceled “Powerpuff Girls” live-action show is circulating online — and let’s just say it’s easy to see why this one didn’t make it to air.

Sources from The CW confirmed to Variety that the video does indeed feature footage from the scrapped series. However, an official trailer for the pilot was never actually made. Instead, the video that’s circulating online as its “trailer” appears to be a fan-made collection of several scenes from the project put together, including an alcoholic Bubbles drunkenly burping and Buttercup refusing to wear her green dress because it’s “normative and ass-ugly.”

This too-real show was ordered in 2020. In the live-action series, the citizens of Townsville turn against the crime-fighting trio, causing them to break up. But when darkness returns to their home, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup reunite. The series was written by Heather Regnier...

Once upon a time, The CW was a network that made original programming. It was divisive programming; a lot of people slammed CW shows as treacly, cheap-looking, superficial teenaged nonsense, but hey, teenagers deserve their trash, too.

That ended when The CW was acquired by Nexstar. The great majority of the network's programming was canceled. That included a live-action sequel to The Powerpuff Girls, the beloved Cartoon Network show about three pint-sized superhero sisters who defended Townsville from all manner of evil. The live-action show would pick with the girls years after they'd split apart and grown up to be maladjusted young adults. It was going to star Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, Yana Perrault as Buttercup and Scrubs alum Donald Faison as Professor Utonium, the girls' father/creator.

Now, unexpectedly, the trailer for the show that never was has popped up online. You can watch it above!

In 2021, The CW ordered and shot a live-action “Powerpuff Girls” pilot starring Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault and Donald Faison, only for the series to be canceled and never see the light of day — until now.

Footage from the canceled series has been leaked onto YouTube and made into a trailer. Sources at CW confirmed to Variety that the footage is real, but a final trailer was never assembled before “Powerpuff Girls” was axed. At the time of the cancellation, CW may have been putting together a trailer for upfronts, but sources say the leaked footage would not have passed CW standards. The network sometimes used outside vendors to assemble trailers, so the leak could have been a rejected trailer from a third party. It may also have been a Warner Bros. TV trailer created for L.A. screenings or San Diego Comic Con.

Nevertheless, the leaked footage spread on social media Thursday.

For better or for worse, The CW's live-action Powerpuff Girls was put out to pasture before the show ever made it to the air. It came pretty close, however, to the point where a trailer was made for the ill-fated series.

On Reddit, the newly-revealed trailer was shared, revealing over three and a half minutes of footage from the Powerpuff Girls reboot. The trailer showcases how the live-action adaptation would have adapted some of the whimsical elements of the cartoon series, reimagining the group as they would appear as young adults in the real world. After being shot, the pilot was revealed to have fallen flat, with The CW's former Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz admitting the whole thing was a "miss.

A live-action series based on The Powerpuff Girls was in development at The CW back in 2020. The show was meant to depict Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup as “disillusioned twentysomethings,” dealing with the consequences of their childhoods spent fighting crime. The show would have shown the girls reuniting when the world needed them most.

The series was being produced by Warner Bros. Television Studios, with Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody writing the script. The pilot was officially ordered in February 2021, with Maggie Kiley set to direct.

The cast included Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup. Donald Faison was cast as Professor Utonium, and Tom Kenny was returning as the narrator from the original cartoon.

India’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment has tapped Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu for her Bollywood debut in “Baaghi 4.” The announcement comes exactly three years after Sandhu’s Miss Universe win.

The film, helmed by director A. Harsha, will feature Sandhu alongside established stars Tiger Shroff and Sanjay Dutt, with Sonam Bajwa rounding out the cast. If there's one thing a slasher movie franchise needs, it's an instantly recognizable slasher. "Halloween" has Michael Myers, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" has Freddy Krueger (inseparable from actor Robert Englund), "Friday the 13th" has Jason Voorhees, and "Scream" has Ghostface. Unlike the other slashers, though, Ghostface is a mantle, not a single person.

The original "Scream" was a murder mystery, with Ghostface unmasked and killed at the film's end. Each sequel has continued the trend: a new person slips on the ghoulish white mask, full body black cloak, and starts stabbing people in Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) orbit. While each Ghostface killer has naturally been played by a different actor, the disguised voice is the same in every movie, provided by voice actor Roger L. Jackson. That's right, the mighty Thundercats are going to be getting a helping hand from the Powerpuff Girls in a crossover special next year. Dynamite Comics has reinvigorated both franchises with their new comic series and on Free Comic Book Day, the two worlds are set to collide in an unbelievable one-shot story.

Per Aipt Comics, Dynamite Comics has revealed the crossover that will bring its Thundercats and Powerpuff Girls series together. Thundercats/Powerpuff Girls #0 will be written by Paulina Ganucheau and drawn and colored by Coleman Engle, with letters by Jeff Eckleberry. Engle's cover shows Blossom and Lion-o leading their allies while a perplexed Mumm-Ra watches in the background.

According to the solicited information, the Powerpuff Girls are transported to Third Earth, where they lose their powers. The young heroes are forced to team up with the Thundercats and stop whatever evil plan Mumm-Ra is fomenting and somehow get back home.

In the history of popular sitcoms, Two and a Half Men will surely have a top spot with Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer leading the way. But apart from the stellar ensemble, creator Chuck Lorre also strategically brought in another aspect of the show that quickly grabbed the interest of the audience. The special element is the intro of the show which presents Sheen, Cryer, and Angus T. Jones lip-syncing the song Manly Men.

The Powerpuff Girls meet The Simpsons in a new animation mashup. The Powerpuff Girls was an animated series created by Craig McCracken, which began telling the tale of Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles in 1998. The series ran for six seasons, from 1998 to 2004. The Simpsons, on the other hand, is a less kid-oriented animated series that started almost a decade earlier than The Powerpuff Girls, airing its first episode in 1989. The show has continued on since, and The Simpsons season 36 is currently in progress.
