The only time Amol Palekar-Raakhee were cast opposite each other. Ironically they played 'Bhaiyya-Bhabhi' to a portly Rajesh Khanna who was older than both of them.
Amol Palekar was angry with the director and Rajesh Khanna. He bashed the film and his role when ever he got the chance. The real reason was because the director did something very under handed to him. He needed Rajesh Khanna to kick Amol Palekar while Palekar is at Khanna's feet. Amol refused to do the scene as he felt it was degrading to his character to do this scene. The director explained it was important for him to do this scene. Amol still refused. Then the director and Rajesh Khanna thought of a plan. The director asked Amol to just kneel in front of Rajesh Khanna. Amol heard the scene and agreed. When the scene started, the director signaled to Khanna to kick Amol. The director had a good laugh but Amol never forgave him. People on the sets were reminded of when Rajesh Khanna and the director tricked Sanjeev Kumar into getting slapped in Aap Ki Kasam. Sanjeev had refused due to his hatred of Rajesh Khanna. Finally they shot the scene without telling Sanjeev he was going to get slapped.
There was later a shelved film, Sobti Internationals "Aanchal" (1993) Produced by Prasan Kapoor. Starring Jaideep Bika, Divya Dutta. Both were Stardust Academy Discoveries. This was in 1993.
It appears that this film stalled during its making and changed producers. The film's promotional material and its audio records carried the names of the banner Sunlight Films, and producers Tapan Chatterjee and Tapan Kumar Guha. However, the film itself credited the banner Bemisal Films and producers Prem Lalwani and Mohan Lalwani. While the audio records were issued in 1979, the film was certified and released in 1980.
