| Solbrain is amazing!!
This series boggles the mind in its melodramatic oddity. The characters are somewhat wooden, except for the chief, Miyauchi Hiroshi's character, who oozes cool (as Miyauchi tends to do in all his films) despite his brief appearances. The team has a giant, flying, c.200-foot-long firetruck with which to fight the blazing fires that appear at the end of every episode. Having said that, firefighting is not the focus of the show; the team fights against villains and misunderstood scientists most of the time, solving mysteries throughout the city. At the end of every episode, though, often inexplicably, the oil barrels that are apparently present in every warehouse and science building in the city explode, necessitating the use of the metal hero suits. SolBraver, the blue one, has a grappling laser shooting device and vulcan water-guns, while SolJane (what an exciting name and alluring woman!) simply exists to use a rebreather on the victims of the fire. The series gets more exciting later (I don't want to spoil it, so I won't say how), but remains rather formulaic throughout. But this is what makes it wonderful! You can cheer on the Solbrain team, along with SolDozer, the silly robot, as they fight giant brains that want children's bodies, a werewolf, and lots and lots of misguided scientists! It's especially fun in the English dub which, I think, is from the Philippines, and features one of the most ridiculous narrator voices you'll ever hear! So let's go watch and sing with them: 'HELP! HELP! Chikyuu ga ima abunaiiiiiiiii!!!!'
