Clearly a Raylene vehicle from Wicked early in her career, Fred Lincoln's "As Sweet as They Come" is a paper-thin video about two couples that has little to offer beyond the sex content. That would be a harsh criticism two decades back when it was made but is standard reaction nowadays, given the death of narrative Adult cinema.
Raylene is a college student living at her aunt's place, with aunt's boyfriend Randy Spears also there to ogle her and be protective. Raven Touchstone's deficient script (usually she delivers a winner, especially when working for top directors like Paul Thomas or Bud Lee) has merely the suspense of when Spears will finally hump her (final reel one assumes and one is correct) to go on, not enough to hold one's interest even for the then-standard (and laudable) quickie running time of 74 minutes.
Lincoln uses cross-cutting between sex scenes, a technique standard during the theatrical Golden Age of porn, but abandoned in recent decades in favor of uninterrupted lengthy sex vignettes (suitable for streaming). "Auntie Em" as Randy affectionately calls her is a mature blonde resembling Dyanna Lauren (without the talent or timeless beauty, however) in the person of Christina St. James, a forgotten performer of the '90s who I had never seen before, thanks to her being mired in strictly all-sex sludge other than this assignment and "Coming to Beverly Hills" -latter only seen by me in an intriguing NuTech coming attraction.
Gimmick of Christina and Randy heading to a swingers' club called Swingles is used to fill out the sexual content, with Inari Vachs there having a couple of sex scenes (including anal sex, performed bareback before Vivid became addicted to "safe sex" depictions), and various XXX performers not performing any XXX sex: Marc Wallice, Alexandra Silk).
Basically we get back at Aunt Em's place informal swapping, as Christina beds down Raylene's wimpy boyfriend Nick East, her excuse being that old saw of mentoring him in the art of sex, while "uncle" Randy services Raylene, even getting her to experience her "first orgasm" (yeah, right) in a strictly soft-core fondling scene in which neither nudity nor explicit sex is included.
Happy ending is terrible, and only the memories of Raylene looking beautiful in her bubble baths remains after this programmer has finished.
