In the prologue, Sacha Guitry says: «The sound cabin enters the stage. Already, the helmeted operator is listening.» The camera shows a closed, dark Citroen van coming from the street. It features the RCA logo on the right-side door, and on the van's body, the Pathé-Cinéma logo and the words «Pathé-Cinéma Enregistrement Sonore». On the front of the van's body, «Paris Seine».

Superb Sacha Guitry is a man married with both sisters !
You can imagine how far Sacha Guitry is able to ravish us with this simple plot...

And if you don't... just watch it, if you're able to...

His dialogues are always clever, funny, ironic, full human nature understanding...

and he did it again : so tasty, a real delight !

In this story, once more with brio, helped by the great Pauline Carton as a servant, and both (not in real life) sisters, and a Russian countess, he brought us a superb comedy : I laughed at lot ! (in fact like all the comedies he wrote the dialogues...)

Marguerite Pierry plays madly well her part : the forgotten wife, suddenly reappearing after 22 years

Generally speaking, Guitry loves and deeply understands all the humans, and pin-point our small intrigues without cynicism, even though it is quiet close to it; it is said with great compassion.

He' never vulgar, with a "franc-parler" just perfect !

In the beginning of the film, he shows and thanks his movie maker travel-mates

The only complain is not about the movie, but about the reel, that one should be restored...

    Then why only 9/10 ? It is the same, 9 or 10 : I loved it !

NB if you like that sort of comedy, you can take all

the ones he made (some are may be better than others,

but believe me or not, they are all excellent,

and you may enjoy all of them, ...

and also not only the comedies...

he was and still is one of the all time greatest actor, and director !)

A film is never really good unless the camera is an eyes in the head of a poet Orson Welles
