The Beauty of Athens (1954)

One of the most known Greek comedies from the old glorious Greek cinema. This is a very funny movie with some of the best Greek actors providing endless humor and really good performances. Besides that this film also offers a "back in time" view of the mid-50s Athens. Many will miss this certain neighborhood feeling one gets from watching the small streets looking like village paths.

In my opinion later Greek films never achieve this feeling of this generation of films especially the humor and the flair of the time.

All in all a superb film and a pioneer of Greek modern cinema. If you like this you should also watch the many other films the main actors also did. The combination of these 4 is a killer and a must see!
