  • It starts with a plastic spider crawls up a girl's bare thigh. After the credits a man and a woman walk down a dirt road. They are stopped by a group of men. A fight begins and the man fights back. A male hero appears (Chiang Ming). A female hero also appears (Sun Chia-Lin). Our girl does all the talking then fights with a rope. The couple is saved and walks off. Many more bad guys return. This time our guy fights.

Our guy's side kick is giving cash to destitute people. The couple from the road are following them and side kick confronts them and they leave. Cut to the bad guys talking. They want the girl from the road because she has a map on her back.

At about thirty minutes in that plastic spider returns and I cannot follow the story any more. By the one hour mark our hero has been injured and the bad guy is holding people hostage to get the map he wants. Though the story seems to be back on track there have not been any fights. The final fight finally happens and it is a disappointment.

My copy is a digital file that plays on a HDTV as wide screen but is not true wide screen just stretched. There are dual Chines and English hard subtitles. The subtitles are come and go, hard to read, and sometimes do not make sense. Today this movie would only draw the attention of a hard core fan of martial arts movies of the golden age from 1967 to 1984. That fan, like me, would find little to like about it, and forget it after one watch.
