Kelli Giddish’s fans will be giddy to learn they haven’t seen the last of her on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The former Svu series regular departed the NBC procedural midway through Season 24 but returned to play Amanda Rollins for that season’s finale and again for the premiere of the show’s ongoing 25th season. Now Giddish will bring Rollins back to Svu again for Episode 11, Deadline reports. No air date for that installment has been announced, but if Svu airs new episodes each week, Episode 11 could hit screens as early as Thursday, April 11. Ralph Bavaro/NBC NBC also hasn’t revealed plot details for Giddish’s next return, but considering that Giddish is so far only returning for one more episode, fans can expect that Rollins will still be holding her job as a Fordham University professor and not returning to the Special Victims Unit full-time.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Law & Order: Svu) is one of the best shows on TV.
The crime series, also known as the first spin-off of Law & Order by Dick Wolf, debuted back in September of 1999, and has since gone on to become the longest-running primetime U.S. live-action series in the history of TV, and the only live-action ’90s series still producing new episodes.
The show includes stars like Christopher Meloni as Elliot Stabler (who left in 2011), and Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson.
The iconic opening provides the premise: “In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.”

After twenty-five years, Law & Order: Svu faces the question of Olivia Benson's potential retirement, signaling a major shift in the series. Mariska Hargitay's portrayal of Olivia Benson has been the heart and soul of Svu, driving the story forward through various eras and emotional arcs. The current season sets up a potential exit for Benson, with hints of a transitioning cast and the spotlight on her character's emotional struggles.
After twenty-five years on the air, Law & Order: Svu has been building an undeniable legacy. From memorable characters and storylines to real-world effects that transcend the fourth wall, there's no denying that this procedural is about as iconic as it comes. Truthfully, a huge part of that is down to its consistent lead actress (and executive producer), Mariska Hargitay, as Captain Olivia Benson.

Law & Order might have been recently surpassed by its spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in terms of popularity, but it remains the most iconic police procedural ever made. Law & Order has enjoyed a remarkably long run, having been on the air for 22 seasons and counting, but not every season can be a winner.
Law & Order is the perfect show for any crime fan who needs a long series to sink their teeth into. As 22 seasons can be somewhat intimidating for new fans or those looking for a rewatch, audiences should look to Law & Order's strongest installments.

Kelli Giddish may be out as a Law & Order: Svu series regular, but it seems she’s not done with the show.
Deadline broke the news that the Amanda Rollins star had closed a deal to return for another episode — her third since departing in 2022.
A lot had changed for Rollins when she returned last year, with the beloved character revealing her pregnancy with her third child.
Given that Peter Scanavino, who plays Rollins’ husband Dominic “Sonny” Carisi, remains with the show, there were some concerns the two lovers would be dragged apart after Giddish was let go as a series regular.
Thankfully, the Dick Wolf procedural has found a way to keep them together, and we’ve been getting updates on how Rollins is doing because we don’t see her regularly any longer.

Captain Cragen's appearance was a too-short blast from the past.
During the final minutes of Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 7, he told Bell about the corruption behind Stabler's suspension.
This is only the beginning of this story, but will Cragen have any more screen time as it progresses?
Cragen is retired, so it doesn't make sense for him to have a huge part, but he should have had something more, given all the hype around his appearance.
Still, he gave Bell some vital info about the Iab agent in charge of Stabler's reinstatement. The guy was biased from the get-go, but now we have a motive and a suggestion that Iab is as compromised as any organized crime family Elliot Stabler has ever taken down.
Why Captain Cragen Is So Important to This Story

Uh oh. Benson has a new obsession.
On Law & Order: Svu Season 25 Episode 7, her desperation to reconnect with a former victim she once saved threatened to consume her. However, she managed to direct an investigation into a disturbing series of murders effectively.
Benson's empathy for the woman who was dismembering pedophiles, in combination with her deep-seated need to re-establish a relationship with Maria, suggests that all her years at Svu have taken an emotional toll.
Benson only recently found missing teenager Maddie Flynn, becoming so obsessed with that case that I was shocked Maddie wasn't the victim she wanted to reconnect with.
While she finally put Maddie's case behind her, she quickly developed a new obsession, discussing Maria's case in therapy and spending every spare moment staring at an article about rescuing her 20 years ago. That wasn't any more healthy than her hyperfocus on Maddie's abduction!

The official trailer for the upcoming Fallout series has just dropped.
On Thursday, Amazon Studios unveiled the official trailer for Fallout, a live-action series adaptation of the hit video game franchise. Also unveiled along with the trailer is a new premiere date, with every episode of Fallout now set to drop simultaneously on April 11, 2024. This is one day earlier than the previously announced premiere date. The cinematic trailer carries over the "expansive world building and signature dark humor" of the video game series, per Amazon, and reveals a look at vault dweller Lucy (Ella Purnell) struggling to adapt to the irradiated wasteland on the outside, while also providing the first look at Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury) and Ma June (Dale Dickey). NCIS has been part of the television landscape for the past two decades.
Following a two-episode backdoor pilot on Jag in 2003, the redundantly named Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service debuted in the fall of that year.
Although it started slowly ratings-wise in its first couple of seasons, a franchise soon was born.
Now in its 21st season, NCIS has produced more than 450 episodes and six spinoff series, a record unmatched in TV history (although Law & Order fans doubtless will quibble).
Maybe now, shortly after the series said goodbye to its second-most popular character on NCIS Season 21 Episode 2, would be a good time for a hiatus.
That's insane, you say, what with two new spinoffs in the pipeline.
Look back fondly
Let's start with the fact that every day, on cable and streaming, fans can watch their favorite episodes from the golden years of NCIS, back before Abby, Tony, Ziva,...

Credit: Peter Kramer/NBC) It may sound strange now, after he’s been in the role for more than two decades, but Ice-t never intended to be a series regular on Law & Order: Svu. So how did he wind up playing Fin Tutola on Svu for 24 years and counting? Well, he’d built up a relationship with producer Dick Wolf over the years, and when Wolf asked him to take a “small” role on Svu, it was an offer Ice-t literally couldn’t refuse. Connie Nielsen left FBI after the pilot episode for unknown reasons, leading to her character being replaced by Sela Ward's Dana Mosier. Nielsen's departure may have been due to her busy schedule and involvement in other projects during the time of FBI's release. Ward's exit from FBI was scripted into the season 1 finale, with her character resigning after making a risky decision. Ward joined the show under a one-year contract.
FBI replaced Connie Nielsen with Sela Ward after its pilot episode, starting a trend of short character arcs in the franchise. Fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
The 5 episode search for Maddie that few viewers enjoyed has ended, and Law & Order: Svu Season 25 Episode 5, and we got as happy an ending as we could, under the circumstances.
We also got a new detective, and she appears to be the closest thing Benson has to a kindred spirit.
Benson's been traumatized since Maddie's disappearance, tormenting herself with her realization that she passed Maddie and her kidnapper while coming out of the tunnel.
But she wasn't the only one upset. Her behavior was utterly rational compared to Agent Sykes, who she had to stop from getting in the suspect's face or taking her frustration out on Carisi.

The Svu squad now has two captains, but don’t worry—it’s still Olivia Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) unit. Curry, moving over from Internal Affairs, is just looking to do some good and, as Aimé Donna Kelly puts it, learn “from the best.” In the February 22 episode of Law & Order: Svu, “Zone Rouge,” a cryptic message sends the team on a new track to find Maddie, the teen whom Benson has been trying to find since the Season 25 premiere. Plus, Benson tries to help a federal agent when the case hits too close to home, and Curry tries to make amends with Fin (Ice-t).
