The story is commercial without freshness

There is some fine photography in this picture. The story is commercial without freshness or convincing truth; it is very like several others of the poorer kind of pictures that have dealt with this kind of character. The acting, especially of the titular character, is weak to emptiness. The girl does her part well; but is not able to make up for the picture's deficiencies. The script is by Emmet Campbell Hall and was produced by John Ince. - The Moving Picture World, April 11, 1914
