  • I used to watch this show when I was growing up. First off, I must say that it was a fun game show. Also, I'm not sure if I've seen every episode. However, I do remember the show very well. Every time I watched it, I had a lot of fun watching. This made me long to be a contestant. If I had to pick a favorite event, it would be either Jump! Jump! or Basic Training. I hope the Nickelodeon Games and Sports Newtork keeps it on so I can keep watching. If that happens, I will be really happy. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever. Now, in conclusion, I hope that you catch this show one day before it goes off the air for good.

    Good
Looks better than American Ninjas Warriors Junior.

This one is more authentic than Ninja Warrior junior. Ninja Warrior seems like it's filled with actors, and they are prompted to cheer the way they do.

Guts is more chilled and looks a lot more serious. It might be prompted as well but if it is it looks way better than Ninja Warriors.
  • I'll never forget that in my early teens when I used to watch that show and the show was awesome, the host Mike O' Malley is hilarious and referee Moira Quirk does a great job as the referee, and it's pretty sad that GUTS didn't last as long as it should of but luckily, I still watch this show on a digital network Nickelodeon GAS and I think that Nickelodeon is alot better 10 years ago than it is today, the third season overall isn't as good as the first two seasons but overall it's a great show, if you love game shows, get digital cable and watch GUTS, Do you Have It?!
  • I remember watching Guts on Nickelodeon when I was younger with my sister and brother. We always loved seeing the different physical challenges the contestants had to compete in. My favorite challenge were the "Vertiboggan" and "Boulder Canyon".

Although this show only lasted for three seasons, I enjoyed every episode of it. I also enjoyed Global GUTS, the spin off series that had contestants from all around the world participating in it.

I miss the days when Nickelodeon use to air good shows, like Guts, Double Dare, Rugrats(pre-Dil and Kimi), Rocko's Modern Life, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and many great shows. I give Guts 10/10 stars!

This is another one of my favorite game shows of all-time number seven in my book. Basically, this game is pretty much "American Gladiators" for kids and family, with a little of the Olympics. This is also another one of the shows that inspired me to get into fitness training, because I wanted to be in this game. There is just so much about this game show that spelled cool. From the theme song, which is one of my favorite theme songs, it just has the right tunes to pump you up for action, makes you just ready to go. Each of the contestants are in different colors, but what's kind of cool is that each of them have nicknames like Dynamite, Thunder, Destroyer, etc, which to me really contributed to the pumping up factor.

But of course, we have the game itself which is divided into four events which leads to the final event that awesome mountain the Agro Crag. But first things first, I really love the events and the designs of them, each of them is sort of a colorful extreme version of the conventional sports we are use to. And in each episode, they are always different, which keeps the show fresh your never quite sure what kind of challenge the contestants must face.

There are a lot of them I like I'll just state a few, one of them is nerf archery, where the contestants they all are on bungie cords and jumping and bouncing back and forth to retrieve another arrow from the steps and then jump outward and if high enough fire at the target with the Nerf Bow and Arrow making the arrow stick onto the Velcro Target. That one I just thought was cool as your using Nerf Bow and Arrows which are one of my favorite Nerf weapons and jumping on the bungie cords, this would be an event "Rambo" would love to compete in.

Another is the racetrack, there are different kinds of races but my favorite one is when the contestants have to petal in these chair cycles which are cool sort of similar to the type of wheel chairs athletes use in the wheel races or basketball.

Third is the obstacle course which is a bit like the Eliminator from "American Gladiators" as the contestants have to make good time getting from point A to B while getting though the obstacles in their way like one which is a web of bungie cords they have to crawl under, which can be a bit tricky as it can be a little easy to get tangled which is the point of that obstacle, but the key to getting though that is to stay low.

Of course, the best for last game is the Agro Crag, I really love the design of that mountain. The multicolored sides, that volcanic sound, I even love the fact that it shoots out neon green foam rocks which don't really do much in slowing contestants down but it's still a cool effect all the same.

I wanted to climb this sucker, alright it's more of a steep hike but a speedy steep hike, as you have to ascend from point A to B but press each of the activator buttons doing it otherwise your last assertion which is an actual climb won't count. It's not too hard but not that easy considering how steep the crag is, and that last assertion is much like with wall climbing where you must find the right hand holds to make you climb.

This is another vintage game show classic, just like the Agro Crag is worth climbing toward that is if you have the guts.

  • GUTS was without a doubt one of the most popular shows on Nickelodeon during the "first generation era" (1979-99). I love that show. In fact, in my opinion, this show beats out Double Dare and Legends of the Hidden Temple. The host, Mike O'Malley, was energetic and laid back in the first season, but he calmed down in the remaining seasons (but still energetic). Referee Moira Quirk was energetic and funny and had personality in the first three seasons. She would joke a lot during that time. The chemistry between Mike and Moira would be so inseparable that in the third season, that there would be a halftime show where they would recap the highlights from the first half. The games were fun to watch. I loved Moon Race (although it aired 3 episodes in the first season) and Slam Dunk.

However, things went downhill with Global GUTS. It was okay and there's nothing wrong with the global competition, but the show lost a whole lot of spark. Mike O'Malley took his commentary way too seriously (as if he was on ESPN). He acts like he want the kids to win. As a matter of fact, he acts like a high school football (or basketball) coach. Moira would joke less often and her personality went out the window. The show was tweaked up too much. I guess that Nickelodeon wants to get serious with the show's direction. I clearly think that if GUTS didn't have global competition, then the show could have stayed on for one more year.

Grades: GUTS A+ Global GUTS B-

Possibly the most ingenius show on television. Three kids go at it in american gladiator type events. Perfect host Mike O' Malley gets into it, with a over the top obstacle 'The AGGRO CRAG' Brilliant '
  • god this show rocked i think that all politics and major decisions should be solved by having the leaders of countries climb the aggro crag for who wins elections or wars. this could be used to decide who the next pope will be imagine, three elderly cardinals duking it out old-school super aggro-crap style, winner take all. instead of the radical rock, theyd just win the pope hat. if that is not enough, let the candidates compete in other awesome tests of strength and skill by facing off in other relevant challenges, like shooting baskets while attached to a bungie cord. i believe that this is a sensible solution that could potential end all world problems such as war, hatred, and violence.
