Originally titled "Felicità dove sei?" ("Happyness where are you?") this soap opera was produced in Milan, Italy, in 1985 by "Rete A" TV network owner Alberto Peruzzo and is still the one and only "telenovela" ever produced in Italy. Written by Marissa Garrido, it's a remake of Mexican "Paloma" (1972) with Andres Garcia and Ofelia Medina; another remake called "Mi querida Isabel" was produced in Mexico in 1997. Veronica Castro and her sister Beatriz Castro did very good acting in Italian without any re-dubbing, Veronica as good and poor "Karina", Beatriz the evil "Eugenia" both fighting for the love of rich "Daniele" (actor Marco Marelli).
