  • María Isabel was a beautiful story, not at all pathetic. Perhaps insults were used against the indigenous by rude, hateful people, but that's a reality... there are some hateful, racist people in this world who make fun of someone who is different. Yes, it's awful, but it would be very unrealistic to show that no one rejected María Isabel for being different. And it isn't true that dark or indigenous people are never in novelas. That is such a misconception. If anyone saw "La Madrastra", the leading lady was dark with indigenous features! Anyway, about María Isabel... the story is basically about a poor indigenous girl who works hard in order to support her adopted daughter, who is actually the daughter of her best friend who died. María Isabel is hired by an engineer named Ricardo. He comes to admire María's dedication, hard work, and inner and outer beauty.

It's one of the best "telenovelas rosas", or fantasy soaps that I've seen, and definitely recommend it.
  • Well I was reading what the first person wrote and I think that he didn't really understood what the soup was about, I think is totally backwards of what he put. For me this soup was one of the bests ones, Adela Noriega as usual was great she is the best in Televisa, she make me cry, laugh everything I just love Maria Isabel, and the important thing about it it was that it teach us how unfair we are sometimes with some people, in this case i.n.d.i.a.n.s and that they have many of the times much more value than we do,is a teaching of life to not treat nobody like is inferior we are all equal we have the same blood in our body I give it a 10 watch it is worth it you are going to love it Salo
  • Warning: Spoilers
I really think that Maria Isabel was a good telenovela. The previous comment made some good points but its not just about some girl who falls in love with a rich guy. There more to it

    ********************Spoiler******

When Maria Isabel friend dies after giving child birth she takes on the role of being mother to her friend's child Rosaisela after promising her friend she would look after her daughter as if she was her own. The rest of her story is the pains of being a mother. She truly suffers for her daughter although not being biologically her. She struggles to give her daughter a good life always looking out for her. Yes in the process she falls in love with the rich boss who has done nothing but be kind to her while she worked in his house. ****end of spoiler*** So It more than just more than a poor girl falling love with rich guy. There is more complexity than just some regular love story.
