A tale of war and romance mixed in with history. The story follows two lifelong friends and a beautiful nurse who are caught up in the horror of an infamous Sunday morning in 1941.
Only five injuries occurred throughout the entirety of the filming: a broken ankle, a sprained ankle, a broken collarbone, a cut head, and a broken finger suffered by a stunt pilot who crashed his plane after the wing clipped a palm tree.

A sailor betting on Dorie Miller's boxing match has a $5 bill with the "Hawaii" overprint on it. Although series 1934 and 1934-A notes were printed with the "Hawaii" overprint, these notes were not issued until July 1942, seven months after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
