  • An above-average soft core film which stars attractive actors and actresses who spend most of the time having sex with each other, much of the time they actually do seem to enjoy what they are doing. If you are looking for a good soft core film, this is recommended. If you're looking for Shakespeare, pass on this one.
  • Do these guys take have a computer kick out these same plots over and over again, only the names, places, and faces are changed to prevent complete boredom. Hubby is handsome and rich, but too busy to pay attention to his gorgeous wife. A situation she constantly tries to remedy. Her friend/neighbor has the same problem so they become interested in each others hubbies--the grass is always greener. Throw in a sexy scheming made who has designs on everybody and you get a lot of stripping and dipping and a salad bowl of an unintelligible plot.

The quality of bodies is pretty high here, although not much in the way of "contact", even simulated is shown. Good late night erotica if Jay Leno can't put you to sleep.
  • The acting was quite good for a movie of this sort, you actually get the feeling you are watching some decent actors and actresses and not some porn stars. Writing also was not that bad. While a plot evolving around 'killing a man by giving him some good sex' may seem thin, it is well worked out and there is even some room for character development. The end was a bit rough, like all the sudden the money had run out. But apart from the anti-climax I really can't say the film is bad in any way.

There are however censored versions out, that cut all the naked and sex scenes and make it a very 'housewomen' like TV-thriller. while this proves much of the women friendliness of the film, it's a bit overambitious for this one however. Plot and acting is indeed decent for what it was made for, but it is not that I would pay 5 bucks while there are many other direct to TV thrillers that are just better out there in the budget boxes. So make sure you get the unrated version.

On fun note: the idea of women in the hot California keeping black stockings in their drawer, just to wear whenever they want kinky sex.

First of all, if you're going to watch this a movie, or ANY movie of the soft-core/erotica type, make sure you get the UN-rated version. Secondly, I find it laughable when people are critical of movies like these for their "lack of plot". Who actually watches a soft-core movie like this for a good story? The purpose of this, or any other movie like this, is to arouse the viewer with sexy looking, non-explicit love scenes (i.e., no hard-core, close up shots like you'd expect in a porno)...and this movie does a very good job of that. All three of the female members of the cast (Tracy Smith, Lauren Hays, Nancy O'Brien) are attractive, especially Tracy Smith. All three give realistic performances during their sex scenes, as if they're actually having sex and enjoying it. And the hot tub scene between Tracy Smith and Nancy O'Brien is especially erotic to watch. If you're looking for a well thought out, suspenseful movie, with a tight plot, great acting, and good character development, I suggest you watch L.A. Confidential. If you're looking to arouse your libido with good sex scenes involving beautiful women, make sure you get the un-rated version, sit back, and enjoy.
  • This film is definitely a softcore not a thriller as the title has suggested. If you are looking for a thriller movie, my advise for you is to leave it alone. However, if you are looking for a softcore especially with Traci Smith in it, this is exactly what you need. Man!!! Traci is good. Cute looking, good body, and, most importantly, not afraid to show her crotch. I bought the DVD, unrated of course, just to see Traci Smith doing hot acts. I didn't pay attention to the other two actresses, Lauren Hays and someone. They are not that good looking anyway. It is hard to get a hold of Traci's films since most of her films are only shown in cable. Conclusion: Plot - None existent, Sex - slightly above mediocre, Naked Traci Smith - A-, Naked the other two actresses - Fast-forwarded so I don't know.

    This review contains spoilers.

In this softcore offering from Playboy/Image, the main story borrows a bit from Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train". Two women (Tracy Ryan and Lauren Hays) who are fed up with their husbands decide (with the help a recently hired maid, Nancy O'Brien) to kill each other's significant other. That way the cops will never be able to connect either of them to the murders. Of course this will never work, because there are lots of very obvious things that would connect them to the murders. Like, maybe the fact that Tracy and her husband are living in the other couple's guest house at the time? Also, I don't think the writer thought out the story too much, because it has the lamest, most anticlimactic ending ever.

But what this movie lacks in originality and logic, it more than makes up for with some scorching hot sex scenes. There are ten scenes spread evenly from start to finish in the movie's ninety minute running time. Five are boy/girl, three are girl solo, one is girl/girl, and one is boy/girl/girl. Only the three women mentioned above participate in the sex scenes, but that's just fine, because all three are super hot and give great performances. Tracy and Lauren's masturbation scenes are incredibly good and very explicit. And I have to make special mention of the lesbian scene between Tracy and Nancy. It was basically just Tracy having a two minute orgasm.

The only criticism I have is the scene where Lauren has sex with Tracy's husband. He leaves his pants on through the whole thing. I'm sure we were supposed to assume that he had them unzipped in the front, but it looked like they were just on. It was probably supposed to make the scene "sexier", but it was kind of lame.

But overall, I strongly recommend this one.
  • Probably one of the best soft core sex movies from the 90's. Lauren Hays, Tracy Ryan, and Nancy O'Brien shine through the movie.

Lauren Hays delivers a sexy performance and she demonstrates that she is one of the best soft core actresses. Her body is amazing and her sex scenes are very hot. Those breasts, those legs... Lauren is extremely hot.

My favorite scene involving Lauren is when she is taken from behind in front of a mirror. Then she gets it really hard over the bed. Nice!

Nancy O'Brien has a memorable sex scene in a swimming pool. Her other sex scenes are very hot.

Tracy Ryan also has good sex material.

For those interested in this movie, buy it. It's totally recommended it.

SEX- extremely good , steamy hot scenes. WOMEN- for all tastes. Busty hot women, beautiful, skinny, etc.

This is the kind of movie to watch alone...
  • It's been a few years since I saw this one,but reading the comments of the featured imdb reviewer made me want to send a comment: I found ALL THREE women in this movie very attractive, and the sex scenes were actually very arousing, but this plot seemed made-up as it went along. Add in that none of the people in this flick(even the lovely Miss Smith herself)can barely act when they're not gettin' it on,and you have a film with only one true purpose, and that is to end up on Cinemax late at night.

I've seen lots of these low budget made for cable TV movies. This one stands out as better than most. First of all the plot twist (which of course I won't reveal) came as a real surprise. Secondly, the acting is better than most films of this type. Not Academy Award material, but better than usual.

Overall, it is tightly directed and you feel like every scene as a purpose, a reason for being there -- a sign of good writing and directing and also not typical of this genre. Sure, this one has the erotic content you expect but it's integral to the plot.

For this genre -- way above average.

In addition to being a sly post-Feminist meditation on the theme of empowerment via self-exploitation and violence, Web of Seduction is a timely liberal commentary on the US's recent/current state of affairs. Several allusions to the `theft' of the 2000 election (e.g. manipulating state statutes to bypass the normal unfolding of legal events; the political philosophy of `by any means necessary'; the anxiety of inherited position) make this biting satire a sure bet for any armchair politicians who like taking a hard look at the GOP along with a little TnA. Director Blain Brown once again pays homage to Hitchcock with his expert handling of the genre convention of voyeurism (more deeply explored in his 1997 debut I'm Watching You), perhaps as an acknowledgment of our own position as spectators rather than participants in the field of American politics. Gifted with an intuitive grasp of mis-en-scene (notice redhead Lauren Hays's deliberately false `tan'), Brown casts an unflinching spotlight on the corruption of the so-called `California lifestyle' where back room conspiracies are the norm, even in the most intimate of relationships everyone is `acting', and above all else, money reigns supreme. In a way, eerily prescient of the 2003 CA gubernatorial election, this film is equally accessible to political neophyte and expert alike.
  • It's a criss-cross murder plot schemed up by a greedy, sexually frustrated wife who traps her weak-willed but sexy little neighbor into murdering her rich husband.

Reminiscent of Strangers On A Train until the surprise ending which reveal who the real schemer is. Tightly put together even tho obviously made on a tight budget. Not all the actors shine (even if their bodies do), but the acting and directing is above average for this kind of soft core thriller.

The sex scenes at least have a plot purpose, some of which you don't know until later.

I had seen Web of Seduction a few times, and it's really not a bad film. Some of the plots were weak but still it was enough to watch an average thriller. Traci Smith is the prettiest of the other two female actors in the film a unhappy wife not getting much attention from her husband that's always hanging out with his clients. She's not very happy of the way things are going so she turns to her neighbor that's going through the same ordeal. At first she seem all right with the idea but she realizes this has certainly gone too far. Near the end she couldn't take much of this anymore and decides she might as well come clean with this before it really starts to drive her up the wall so she calls 911 and that's where you can tell it in her eyes that she was about to admit something.
