Two slacker wrestling fans are devastated by the ousting of their favorite character by an unscrupulous promoter.
David Arquette lost his father Lewis Arquette less than a year after this movie's release. Lewis had his own connection to wrestling, as the voice of "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka in Hulk Hogan's Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling (1985).

Several moves the wrestlers do only work if there is participation from both men and is shown. However, the movie contradicts itself when participation between both men is not being done.
Outtakes and additional scenes run during the first half of the credits.
A shot of the "Oklahoma"-singing cowboy tied to a tree was cut from the video and DVD releases after concern was expressed that it made light of anti-gay violence.
