A 24 episode Danish "julekalender" (Christmas calendar), usually a series dealing with Christmas themes, elements from Nordic mythology, Santa Claus and his helpers, etc., intended for the whole family, especially for children and always broadcast during December. Although produced with a limited budget against a very tight schedule, Jul og grønne skove (1980) was Danmarks Radio's annually "julekalender". But its more adult and satirical approach and lack of mainstream appeal led to massive protests from parents. Basically parents were upset that the series had absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. In particular Danmarks Radio's received a roar from angry parents after the episode in which a jacket "accidentally" lands on top of the camera and the screen goes completely black for the remaining of the episode. The series only aired once, and has never since been re-run.
