| It does go around the block a bit, but is quite an engaging murder-mystery.
This simple little follow-up to "Salute the Toff" sees our amateur detective (John Bentley) on the trail of a murderer ("the Hammer") who is trying to steal a scientific formula and simultaneously bringing the legend of "Robin Hood" into some disrepute! It's been made on a minuscule budget, but some imaginative lighting and musical accompaniment helps keep it tense and interesting. As with the first film, Valentine Dyall & Roddy Hughes add value and Patricia Dainton brings some glamour, if nothing much more substantial, to the plot. The ending is quite fun...
