Actor Kenny Ireland has died following a battle with cancer.
The 68-year-old performer was perhaps best known for playing swinger Donald Stewart in ITV's Benidorm.
He was also director of Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum Theatre from 1992 until 2003.
Ireland's character was written out of Benidorm in June in order for him concentrate on cancer treatment.
A spokesperson for ITV said: "We are terribly saddened to hear that Kenny Ireland has passed away, our thoughts are with his family at this time.
"He was a much loved actor, not only by the cast and crew on Benidorm but by the millions of fans out there.
"He appeared as Donald Stewart in Benidorm from the first episode and helped play a huge part in its success. He will be greatly missed."
Ireland was also known for his appearances in Victoria Wood As Seen On TV, including his role as Derek the handyman in Acorn Antiques.

Actor criticises lack of grants for drama students as she wins outstanding achievement prize at South Bank Sky Arts awards
Julie Walters has criticised government cuts in arts funding, saying she might not have made it as an actor if she was starting out as a performer now because of the lack of grants.
Walters, 63, who got her big break starring opposite Michael Caine in 1983's Educating Rita and has since featured in films including the Harry Potter franchise, said there were no grants now for budding actors to attend drama school and urged the government to change tack.
"If I was coming out into the business now I would never get into drama school," she said, after accepting the outstanding achievement prize at the 2013 South Bank Sky Arts awards in London on Tuesday.
"It would have been a really hard journey if I had ever made it at all,...

"This film would never have been made in America, because we’ve all got wrinkles."
Celia Imrie is laughing, in semi-horror, about the reaction she and her co-stars had when they saw the first images of themselves having fun at The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
"You have this romantic image of yourself, but there we all were in the heat of the sun, no filters or anything. The director thought it was hilarious, but we were all in shock."
Celia Imrie applauds anyone who'll jump off and "give it a go"
Despite this shocking reality, or perhaps because Oscar winner John Madden was prepared to put his A-list line-up - Imrie joined by Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Penelope Wilton, Ronald Pickup and Dames Judi and Maggie - on the screen, bumps and all, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has proved a winner ($100million box office haul) with audiences warmed by...

She's won more Baftas than any other actress. Here, Julie Walters tells Euan Ferguson about her hippy years, life in the country and why it's never been a better time to be a woman on TV
Other multiple Bafta- and Emmy-winning actresses might have flung toys from the pram, or at least raised a manicured eyebrow. The restaurant at the photo studio had courteously but undeniably told her they'd run out of basically everything she might have wanted. Julie Walters smiled and forgave, and smiled again, and pretended to enjoy choosing the remaining dreadful rabbit-food option. Then, out of the waiter's sight, laughed like a drain when I suggested she'd have had better luck choosing from the other (blank) side of the menu; then turned down my offer of a cup of coffee instead because, "No, I'd talk you to death if I had a cup of coffee."
Without caffeine,...
