| Our Gang visits New York City in The Big Town
This Hal Roach comedy short, The Big Town, is the thirty-fourth in the "Our Gang/Little Rascals" series. The gang are in Elmira (which, incidentally, is producer Roach's hometown) reading a postcard from Skinny in New York City. They'd love to be there and when the door on their train car closes suddenly, they come sooner than expected! I'll stop there and just say that this was quite a wonderfully adventurous Our Gang short with them going to the ferry to see the sights before Mickey then goes on a double decker bus and drives (!) his friends over more of the city. By that time, cops are on to them and they take the train home...Plenty of hilarious stuff happens after that but all I'll now say is I highly recommend The Big Town if you love Our Gang!
