  • Its a good show, Judge Joe Brown is very direct (and very offensive to his litigants) But thats what most of the court shows need in times like these. If you enjoy Judge Joe Brown I also recommend The People's Court.

I just watched an episode of Judge Joe Brown were a young black guy stole a white ladies ATM card. His defense was "I don't remember it" the Judge threw the case out for ins evidence!!!!! Really, and there's all the racist talk!! Well that's a two way street. He treated that lady very rudely, even calling the young man out for being drunk!!! I will not watch another episode!! Promoting manhood yea he done a great job of setting that young man on the right track go ahead steal an ATM card it's all good!!!! Makes me sick!!!! I've seen him all over young white men for basically the same things. And what more evidence did she need?? The young man came into her house, left, the card was gone & several charges where made and several ATM withdrawals were made. When ask his reply was "I don't remember" after confessing to having an alcohol problem!! Get it together whats fair for one should be fair for the other!!!!
  • The people who rate this show highly (or even say that Joe is more deserving of the NAACP award than Judge Mathis) are disgusting. He doesn't let people finish what they have to say, and he stereotypes black people who grew up in the hood.... Even though he's been through divorce, and has said nasty things about women. You're no better, Joe Brown. Black people who support this black-eyed animal are just as bad as Candace Owens herself!

Don't say #BLM while you're supporting someone like Joe Brown. I wonder how long this show would've lasted if he was a white judge.
  • He stereotypes black men who talk a certain way, dress a certain way, and just look a certain way. He's biased and he doesn't let people tell their story. He cuts them off too much and he puts them down too much, even though he's twice divorced and is sexist.

I'm looking forward to the day I look on Google, and see that he's passed away. Good riddance.
  • Um, Judge Joe Brown's slogan for men and women of ANY COLOR has been, "I'm protecting womanhood, and promoting manhood." He says nothing about wanting only BLACK people to raise their children properly, etc. That might be what the idiot poster sees this show as, but that's not what Judge Brown says. I've seen ignorant people of all races on this show. Sure, there may be more blacks on the show than whites; but unless there is no such thing as unruly white people; it is NOT fair to say that the judge only addresses black people with regards to how to raise boys to men, and how to raise girls, etc. I think after the judge promotes manhood and protects womanhood, he should teach common sense to ignorant people who tend to see what they want to see, and then post their assumptions online as facts.

should've won the NAACP Image Award instead of Greg Mathis (don't get me wrong, I do love Greg Mathis); because Papa Joe has a mission. He wants black men to grow up, take care of their homes, their women, their children, and to stop being a nuisance and hazard to their communities. He wants black women to grow up and raise their children so that their boys are real men and their girls are women who recognize that. He wants all women to stop taking care of little boys walking like grown men. Papa Joe is gruff, but demonstrates a knowledge of what will make a person "whole." Although he looks as if he's not paying attention, don't go there. If you're steppin' foul and think you're hidin' it, think again. Papa Joe enjoys good gossip as long as its relevant to the case and ain't hurtin' nobody, but if it gets out of hand, he'll cut to the chase. (Although I think he should cut more quickly than he does - all of that drama gets tiresome real quick. Of all the "judge" shows I view, Papa Joe comes behind most of the female judges when it comes to court control. I think that's because he's laid back and tolerates stupidity very well.) All in all he gets my vote.

Really great Judge from Memphis TN that did a lot for the people of Shelby Co. I enjoyed watching your show after school!!! I use to tell my mother that Mr Judge Brown was on tv. Very nice to see you on the television also!!!! The show was on air throughout my childhood up until my adulthood. Hate that you show was cancelled. This man will always be The Judge Joe Brown that we all know and love!!!! From seeing your actual courtroom to watching your amazing rulings on television!!!!!! Very great to see a pilar of the community pave the way for so many good people!!!! Great job Judge Joe Brown!!
  • Unlike the other court TV judges, Judge Joe Brown seems more like the classic doleful, stalwart personality, that must of us associate with someone who is a judge.

Though he's a bit foreboding, Judge Joe Brown is more Ike a stern, yet concerned father figure. His motto, is that he's 'protecting woman-hood, and promoting man-hood'. Like Judge Judy, he often administers his brand of tough-love to litigants who are on the losing end of his judgments. He often tells losing male litigants, to 'man-up, pay-up, and grow up.'

If you like the fiery courtroom style of Judge Judy, then Judge Joe Brown may not be your cup of tea. Judge Joe Brown exudes a dignified, low-key essence. He wants to get to the truth, and he does so by stealth, shrewd question of the litigants, and his uncanny ability to see through any BS. He seldom loses his temper, no matter how exasperated he gets with his litigants.

Judge Joe Brown, is a good, but not great court TV program. His show can be boring at times. And he should ad more sparkle to his personality to help liven-up this show.
  • I like watching "Judge Joe Brown" because it is very entertaining & very worthy of my time. What I like about this show is that this was the very first Court show to have an African American male as the judge. I even like when he puts people in check when they get caught doing horrible things like being trifling, stealing from others, being a horrible example & some other things. I remember watching episodes of this show on my local Fox station which was WBFF Fox 45 & I even seen reruns of this show on Bounce TV. It's really good. I especially like seeing either Jacque Kessler or Jeanne Zelasko reporting the events of what goes on during the cases & I even liked when Rolonda Watts announced for this show especially when she once said "Ooh! Bad Girls you love to hate! Today on "Judge Joe Brown"." I especially like the special episodes of this show which are "Bad Boys", "Bad Girls" & "Man Up". I like that Judge Joe Brown also teaches people how to take accountability for their actions as well as make fair rulings. It's also cool when he makes $50/$100 assessments to those who misbehave in his courtroom. I know that this might also trigger some folks but I happen to think that this show is better than "Death Battle" even though I know that NONE of them relate to each other but it's called having a preference. I also like "Judge Joe Brown" just as much as I like "Divorce Court", "Judge Hatchett", "Judge Mathis", "Judge Alex", "Lauren Lake's Paternity Court" & some others.
