Season two of "Power Book II: Ghost" is filled with shockers and pulse-pounding moments that bring the show to an epic conclusion. The final episode, "Love and War," aired on Feb. 6 and had viewers in an uproar over everything that went down. Just when we thought the storm around Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) and the Tejadas had finally calmed down, it's clear more drama will await them next season.
"Diana was seeking truth in that moment."
Thanks to Diana (Latoya Tonodeo) exposing everyone's truths, "Power Book II: Ghost" ends its second season with the loss of two major characters. But her explosive scene in episode eight arguably delivers the best episode of the series yet, opening the door for more interesting plot lines to be explored in season three. Spoiler Alert: The following interview reveals major plot points from the Season 2 finale of Starz’ Power Book II: Ghost.
The Starz drama Power Book II: Ghost wrapped up its second season on Sunday with a reminder that there is no room for the virtuous in this universe. Not since the murder of Tariq St. Patrick’s (Michael Rainey Jr) twin sister Raina (Donshea Hopkins) in Season 4 of Power, has a death effectively conveyed how easy it is to lose an innocent, avenge their death, and then find a way to move on and continue to live in this grey area where only money and power matter.
But, will the death of Ezekiel “Zeke” Cross (Daniel Bellomy),—in tonight’s episode, “Love and War”— serve as the force to tilt the axis towards betterment?
Zeke was murdered in cold blood by Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) in a case of mistaken identity...

Thanks to John Madden’s timely drama Miss Sloane, Jessica Chastain will soon find herself in the midst of awards season – not for the first time, mind you – but the esteemed actress has many more exciting projects lining her slate beyond Washington’s corridors of power.
The Zookeeper’s Wife, for instance, is Niki Caro’s upcoming wartime drama that places Chastain in the role of Antonina Żabińska. Set just prior to Nazi Germany’s invasion of Poland in 1939, Caro’s period piece is actually an adaptation of Diane Ackerman’s non-fiction novel, which recounts the remarkable true story of Antonina and her husband Dr. Jan Żabiński (Johan Heldenbergh), who saved countless human and animal lives during WWII by hiding them in animal cages peppered across the Warsaw Zoo

Weekly Rushes. Cimino & Kiarostami Remembered, Eastwood & Malick Trailers, Writing "Dr. Strangelove"
NEWSPoster for Abbas Kiarostami's The ReportIt's been a devastating series of days for film lovers. First, Heaven's Gate director Michael Cimino passed away at 77, silencing one of American cinema's most importance visionaries. Then, Palme d'Or-winning Iranian master Abbas Kiarostami has died at the age of 76. It is very hard—very—to imagine cinema without these voices. Some good news from the much-criticized Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences: they are increasing the scope of their voting pool. Included in the roster, but strangely as writers and not directors, are such international luminaries as Mia Hansen-Løve, Jia Zhangke, and Takeski Kitano (Kiarostami was also added, as a director). With so much death in the news, let's celebrate a birth. Specifically, the 100th anniversary of Olivia de Havilland's birth. Farran Nehme Smith has penned a lovely homage for Sight & Sound:She continued to work all the way up to 1988, and her life has been full,...

I was flipping around the TV last night and came across a rerun of Bones, which is a show that I usually never watch, but I left this episode on because Loren Dean was in it. (He has an infrequently recurring role as Bones’ brother.) It seemed like, in the late 1990s, that he was on the verge of Hollywood stardom, after roles films such as the underrated Mumford and Apollo 13 (where he affects the most perfect nerd diction as one of the Nasa technicians). Or maybe in indies and foreign films after his work in the wonderful The War Bride and Wim Wenders’ The End of Violence. I loved the odd onscreen quality that Dean had, sort of nice boy-next-door but with dark and even menacing undertones -- in fact, that quality of his partly inspired me to write my screenplay Cat and Mouse; I created the protagonist with him in mind.

"The genesis of the book grew from my experience watching the movie 'Grindhouse'", says Stahnke. "I walked out of the theater after watching the movie and thought to myself, 'Why isn't there a comic series that takes a rated R approach with over-the-top violence and gunplay and cursing and nudity?', you know?
