  • Jamie (Kimberly J. Brown) is a high school student who is enjoying her life. She's loving it so much, she's constantly talking to the audience, bragging about how great everything is, similar to the new series at the time "Malcom in the Middle". She is shocked, but still annoyingly happy, when she finds her parents (especially her mother) are pregnant, and even more a delight is to be found when they reveal it's not one baby but five, hence the title of this stupid Disney made for TV movie, "Quints". The babies become too much, so they hire a strict, short lived nanny, Fiona. Fiona is an example of a character that is extremely over the top, but still somewhat works comically, played by forgotten ex-SNL member Robin Duke. Jamie starts trying to help with the babies. The babies then become a big TV hit, and chaos ensues, though laughter and fun is what I believe the director was going for.

This movie will only appeal to young kids, which is the only audience it must be going for, so in this way it works. Kimberly J. Brown is certainly a charismatic lead, but her constant toothy smile, followed by her stereotypical "put the eyes and head down" sad face get old real fast, as do her monologues to the audience. The movie often goes for a surreal feel, including unrealistic daydreams which require good special effects, but here the special effects are terrible. The entire movie shouts out "Disney Channel Movie", which in turn in shouting out, "Mediocrity!"

This is a dumb movie, and not great for anyone, but little kids will probably enjoy it.

    My rating: ** out of ****. 80 mins. G.
  • My friends often force me to watch old disney films in my down time as I didn't really grow up on them, and I can safely say that this film is perhaps the worst disaster the world had seen before 9/11 up to that point. It's literally nothing but babies screaming and crying almost non-stop, it's nauseating, boring, and exhausting. Skip this one, even if you do have nostalgia for it. It's just bad.
  • I think this movie was adorable. Disney movies are the best. Kimberly J Brown is definately an amazing actress and also well known for her role of Annie Wheaton in Stephen King's Rose Red (Which I also recommend seeing) I expect to see many more good movies from this young actress. I recommend seeing Quints!
  • This movie is no big title. But it is very nice for watching with children on Sunday afternoons.

The plot is about the 14 year old teenager Jamie, fighting for the attention of her parents after they got quintuplets. Kimberly J. Brown is a very charming actress. She won every heart of my kids and we all liked her smile and suffered with her pain.

We also — in contrary to other reviewers — have liked the surprising effects when the movie stopped with the comment "no, i was just kidding" or when the picture froze and Kimberly popped out of the scene, explaining here mind.
  • I hate saying anything negative, but I just have to warn everybody about how awful this movie is. I could not stop watching it because i kept on wondering if it was all some big joke or something. The movie did have an OK idea behind it. If it had been made differently it could have been better. The main character, Kimberly J. Brown, gets so annoying throughout the movie that you will want to throw your television out of the window. She does a HORRABLE job narrating, and her character keeps on tricking you about what happens then will go back and say "i was just kidding, that isn't what really happened." I think one major thing that turned me off about this movie is the fact that the main character will constantly talk to you, the viewer. It makes it seem like i am watching one of those toddler shows where they ask you questions and wait for you to answer. In fact that is just what she does. It is too bad that Disney wasted its money on this movie. The acting in this movie feels like a cheep high school play. Hopefully you wont waste your time watching it. I gave it a vote of 1 for awful, but it deserves a zero.
  • Warning: Spoilers
I'm a fan of fantasy, and I usually like Disney movies. I also have twins, and love movies about multiple birth children. This one is horrible. The biggest problem I have with it is that it completely ignores so many real things that I just can't get past. If they had had the exact same movie with triplets, I would have gotten past it. Unfortunately, quints don't go full term, they don't come straight home from the hospital and the mother isn't walking around when she goes into labor. I just couldn't get past these problems. If they had the same movie with twins or triplets (I have twins) I could have gone along with the whole thing. I couldn't get past the first half hour.
  • First off, I just have to say that this movie has comedy, it has the ability to be charming, it is dramatic at some points, and it is a little sad. Kimberly J. Brown is very good at playing Jamie, as she was brilliant at playing Marnie in both of the exquisite and remarkable Halloweentown films. She possesses a very friendly format to the movie. She narrates it and tells the story with detail. It has more depth to it than most other Disney Channel Original Movies. Jamie's friends are Zoe, (Shadia Simmons) and Brad (Jake Epstein). They comfort Jamie and help her through her "quintastic" time. The parents of Jamie play their roles much better than parents in other movies I have seen. They both lead very busy and productive lives and tend to ignore Jamie. This movie had most everything I could ask for in an 80 minute time frame. If it seems worth it to see, I recommend you do. It gallantly deserves a 10 out of 10. I think because it just keeps you watching.
  • Quints despite what you might obviously think is not a film about the birth of quintuplets. It's about the experience of being an older sibling to those quintuplets and the film is seen and narrated through the eyes of their 14 year old sister played by Kimberly J. Brown.

I have to say this is one of the better products to come from the Magic Kingdom I've seen in recent years. The cast is very appealing and it's done in such a way that an adult on in years such as myself can empathize with the plight of a 14 year old girl just lost in the shuffle over these babies.

Kimberly J. Brown really makes the film, she's a nice normal 14 year old girl just looking to make her niche in the world and she hasn't quite found the thing that moves her. She comes from a pair of normal parents who if anything are a pair of overachievers. Daniel Roebuck and Elizabeth Moorehead want what's best for their daughter, but their vision of what's best clouds the view.

They've got their financial problems and of course with five extra mouths to feed, they seem to multiply. But when media consultant Vince Corazza appears on the scene with all kinds of moneymaking ideas for the Quints, the future is bright.

The problem is that young Ms. Brown is finally finding herself under the tutelage of a caring art teacher James Kalls. This does lead to a family crisis of sorts.

Of course it all is resolved in good Disney fashion. But the film itself is charming. I liked the performances of Roebuck and Moorehead as the decent parents whose heads get a bit turned by the prospect of all that money to be made in exploiting the Quints. And there is a very portrayal of Don Knotts as the state governor who doesn't like to miss his photo opportunities.

All in all a very nice family film from the Disney Studios.
  • I thought this was an adorable movie! the actors were nice accept for a couple but I am not going to say who. This movie is great every once in a while but the more and more you watch it the more annoying it gets.I give this movie a eight because it's not totally boring and it's not so dramatic it will make you cry it's right in the middle. In the beginning the main character Jamie needs space from her parents and when her mom gives birth to her babies Jamie gets what she wants but finds out she does not like it that much. Soon Jamie finds a hobby that she likes and is disappointed when her parents choose something else over her accomplishments but in the end everything turns out just fine and everyone ends up happy. Anyway if you want a sweet friendly entertaining movie to pass the time on a Saturday afternoon I definitely recommend this one.

I thought this movie was cute. Average girl gets 5 younger brothers and sisters and her life if flipped upside down. It was a good movie and KJB was awesome as Jamie. The babies were adorable. Anyone who didn't like this movie is absolutely nuts!

    Cute
This is a cute but at some points the truth. If you are a young teen or young at heart and remember going through the teen years. You will love this movie. Its super cute and adorable.

I loved it. If I had this movie around when I was a teen it would have simplified my life.

I know a few parents that could open some eyes and see how this movie will help them with the teens they have.

I think the 90's and some of the early 00's are the last time great movies and shows had been made. Life changed after this. Well what we watch. Again great teen movie!
  • Kimberly J. Brown was great in Tumbleweeds (1999), her Southern accent was okay, her instincts were great and we all know her. Quints was my second favorite Disney Channel Original Movie next to Miracle In Lane 2 with Frankie Muniz. But all the other DCOMies are awful, they're silly, with the most horrible actors and they're not a single bit dramatic, and the shows (except for So Weird and In A Heartbeat) are terrible and silly and just like I said. They've got to stop making
  • Fourteen-year-old Jamie Grover (Kimberly J. Brown) is an only child who resents the constant attention her parents give her. His desire for less attention is finally granted when his mother becomes pregnant. However, her mother gives birth to quintuplets and Jamie's life changes drastically and she begins to resent her new siblings.

Super cute right... Imagine being the center of the world and having quintuplet brothers, which in itself is crazy, unimaginable, too much cuteness, too much work, too much diapers, too much milk, jeez.. Beautiful, and profound, despite being a children's comedy, a popular theme was asked, parental abandonment, which, in fact, never happens in the film, but is always reported as something bad, and that is, that generates "problematic" and complex adults, a beautiful film , I got emotional...
  • Get this: Teenage girl wants space from her parents. She gets it-by the arrival of five brothers and sisters, the ever-popular quintuplets. Now, I thought Kimberly Brown was excellent in "Tumbleweeds". She isn't horrible here, but could have used improvement. The worst acting came from Elizabeth Morehead, who plays the mom on the worst sitcom ever, "One World". Do I sense a pattern here? Bottom line-view it for what it is.
  • This film is Disney at its worst.Every cast member in this movie lacks acting talent with the exception of Don Knotts. The plot line is the worst yet of the Disney channel Original movies(Even though they all suck).I also find it incredibly annoying when Kimberly J. Brown stops the movie to explain something totally irrevelent to the plot line. This move is quite possibly the worst move I've ever seen!
