Raashi Pandit (Sandhya Pandit Singh, sister of Vijeta Pandit) used her relationship with the producer Farooq to get her brothers Jatin and Lalit as the music composer of the film. Farooq Nadiadwala father, put his foot down and removed them. Bappi Lahiri was signed. Raashi was till trying to get her brothers a job. She convinced Bappi Lahiri to take Jatin Pandit as the playback singer for Mithun in the film. That is when Sulakshna Pandit made a major mistake. She was offered some films opposite Mithun Chakraborthy, and she declined them stating Mithun was too a small a star to act with her. In retaliation, Mithun got Jatin Pandit removed from the film. But Jatin returned after he had a long talk with Mithun and Mithun realized he was a good talented boy.
This movie was above average at the box office and 23 rd highest grossing Bollywood movie of 1981.
The music used in the opening credits of this film was adapted from the theme of the Western film "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" (1966) composed by Ennio Morricone. The same tune was created as the song "Tu Woh Tu Hain" for the movie Beqabu.
