Spectacular!
I love it! I took a course on forensic chemistry in college and found it to be a whole lot of fun, and this show just took me back. In addition to seeing all the cool ways the crime scene unit can place you at the scene and ultimately prove you did the crime, it has gallows humor/sarcasm and edge. I hope they don't cancel it.

Trivia

Though not requested to do so by the producers, Marg Helgenberger attended actual autopsies over the course of the series for personal research purposes. The most "memorable" aspect of the experience was the stench, according to Helgenberger's account on BBC's Breakfast (November 3, 2011).

Quotes

Greg Sanders: I had to send this to an outside lab since we're not equipped to carry out bacterial DNA analysis. Hint, hint.

Goofs

"The CSI Effect": While often the science and technology portrayed in the series (as well as the other CSI series) is accurate or mirrors sound scientific principle, there have been times when methods have led to results simply not possible in the real world.

Alternate Versions

The UK & Ireland's Sky Living, Sky Living HD and Sky Living +1 channels show slightly edited versions of the episodes in their late night-early morning/breakfast time/daytime to remove the more graphic shots, as children may be viewing, as well as certain unsuitable story material for the time slot. Generally, the edits remove certain graphic crime scene/autopsy table/or sometimes dialogue, which are noticeable by strange music score jumps, and badly truncated dialogue pacing. Some entire episodes have been skipped over in these time slots, due to the underlying episode themes. In late 2016, by comparison, the UK & Ireland's "Alibi" channel ran CSI:NY unedited in a late evening time slot.
