A drama series that takes a darkly comical look at members of a dysfunctional California family that runs an independent funeral home.
The pilot episode features several spoof commercials for funeral homes and products. This was intended to be a recurring feature throughout the series but was dropped after the first episode.

Nate's birthday in the obituary is September 30, 1965 in episode 27, but January 8, 1965 in episode 61. The right one should be September 30, since in episode "The Room" he himself says to be a Libra. Curiously, the lady in that episode thought he was a Capricorn, which would be right if Nate were born on January 8.
