  • When I first saw this movie, I thought that it was ok. But after researching it again recently, I came to the conclusion that for a Bollywood thriller, this one is actually very good. Though storyline is thin and the plot is taken from a French movie, this movie still have some chilling scenes and depth in the relationship between the characters. Especially for a movies from the start of the millennium.
  • In my view this is one of Bobby Deol's best. This is different from regular Indian movies, which are usually long, dull, and predictable. Bichhoo is different, and even though it is a copy of Leon the Professional, it is great for an Indian movie. The story doesn't go soft and dry, the songs are not much of a disturbance to the pace, and Bobby Deol is believable as a tough-as-nails, battle-hardened, cold-blooded hero for hire! I didn't like his anti-cursing and anti-smoking attitude though, that was not realistic, not to mention his drinking milk like a good little boy, while he kills people for a living, was a bit out of place, oh well, this is an Indian movie after-all. The opening song with Hansraj Hans was a nice touch.

It was a remake of Luc Besson's movie called Leon:the professional acted by jean reno & Natalie Portman.

Guddu Dhanoa has rarely given great work but yet he made some good action films with cousin Sunny Deol, then he moved to Bobby. Bichhoo is a remake of Leon The Professional only the small child's part is replaced by the grown up Rani who acts like a kid(LOL) The film starts off well though Bobby's flashback is okay The shootout scene is well shot, but the revenge angle is soon sidelined and focus shifts to romance between Bobby,Rani which hardly works The revenge angle is shown much later in the film, the climax(mostly copied) is decent

Direction is okay Music is decent, Jeevan Main is superb, other songs too are good

Bobby Deol goes through his work well though at times he does get monotonous, Rani Mukherjee however irritates like in those days, surprisingly she paired with Bobby in 2 films that year, BADAL and Bichoo and both worked reasonably Ashish Vidhyarthi is good in his role, Sachin Khedekar has a brief role and is okay, Dolly Bindra is loud, Ishrat Ali too is loud Malaika Arora has a brief role and she doesn't impress, rest are okay
  • Professional assassin Jeeva (Bobbby Deol)relunctantly "babysits" Kiran (Rani Mukherji) who is a witness to her entire family's murder by a druglord (Ashish Vidyarthi). Unsurprisingly,he falls in love with her while under his wing.

Story-line is copied from Leon (the professional).Songs have been juxtaposed together without any relevance to the film.RM tries very hard thereby being irritating in a tomboy(tapori)role.Ashish brings a certain menance to his role. BD is at his best in the action scenes which along with the camerawork are the only saving grace for this film which lacks a sting!

Acting was comparatively better then Original movie by Rani.. But giving credits to original movie is a must.. where did it failed ? The story line, Indian cinema audience not yet grown to adopt changes.

    thanks.

This movie is a really bad copy of the french American movie Leon.

And its in every aspect a very bad movie.

Right from the acting to the Bollywood changes.

Bobby did not act well, his anger burst was just comical.

Rani was too old to play a child. And was horrible acting childish.

The villain was okey-ish but is no Gary oldman.

Gary oldman was so terrifying when he took his pills, the Indian dude just came out clownish.

Action scenes was very bad and low budget and the ending was not half as good as the original.

The biggest problem here was tho that they copy a American movie and put in some indian parts which always ruin it. Even stick to source material or just be inspired by it and make ur own movie.
  • (2000) Bichhoo (In Hindi with English subtitles) THRILLER/ ACTION

Produced and directed by Guddu Dhanoa that has professional hit man, Jeeva (Bobby Deol) successfully executing his main target. Once his job is done, he then takes the bus home with one of the lowly passengers begin to berate him, and Jeeva just stands there does nothing. By the time he come back to his place of residence, we then notice he lives next door to the Bali family household. Jeeva notices the daughter, Kiran Bali (Rani Mukherji) smoking on the stairwell. She tries to speak to him, but he ignores her and heads straight to his apartment which is at end of the hall. It is during when as soon as Kiran goes back to her apartment almost immediately she argues with her biological dad, Vikas Bali (Mohan Joshi); her mother-in-law, Teji Bali (Dolly Bindra) and stepsister, Nikki Bali. And for awhile, viewers know absolutely nothing about the emotionless assassin, Jeeva until he begins to hear the arguing through the walls. Triggering his memory to a flashback as he used to be a regular store employee, there was a young lady, Kiran Sabarwal (Malaika Arora) who was head over heels in love with Jeeva. When her wealthy and over bearing dad, (Mohan Joshi) finds out about this, he takes it upon himself to get the Bali police- one in particular Devaj Khatri (Ashish Vidyarthi) at this point he was a nobody, to do his dirty work. As a result of dad's actions, forced his only daughter to commit suicide, driving Jeeva to seek retribution of his mom and sisters demise by going after and taking out Karim's dad and his right hand man. It is back to the present time again, and that one inspector, Devaj has been promoted to be head of narcotics, and this time he is even more dirty. And apparently, as a result of some shady mis-dealings between Devaj and Kiran Bali's dad, Vika, Devaj feels he is being ripped off.

Everytime Bobby sir comes on screen, I feel something inside me. That's the connection I have with the legend. He is the greatest actor and this movie is the proof. Proud Bobbian till I die.

This Bollywood remake of Luc Bessons Leon was surprisingly good. I'm quite new to Bollywood films and didn't know what to expect. I chose a remake first so I could test the water a bit. I was quite surprised. Its no where near as good as the original but still its a really enjoyable action movie.

I had a bit of culture shock at first due to the amount of singing, but soon I began to enjoy that too. Its quite a stylish film as well and is not just a straight remake, although for the most part its sticks closely to the original. The performances are great and the action scenes all work quite well as well. We are also given more background on the Leon characters past. Something the original didn't have.

If you've never seen a Bollywood film before you could do a lot worse than see this...
