A grieving doctor is being contacted by his deceased wife through his patients' near death experiences.
The scenes at the waterfall weren't filmed in Venezuela. Logistics and budget necessitated shooting these scenes on Kauai, Hawai'i, where, interestingly, they needed to create the waterfalls entirely by CGI.
It's bad, Joe. They're evacuating the villages. We're about to be washed out. We're hearing gunfire now.
Joe Darrow: Can you... can you get to Calamar? Can you get across the border to Columbia?
Emily Darrow: They're putting us on the bus. I don't know where they're taking us....
Emily refuse to be an eagle like Joe because they "eat bunny rabbits" and she's a vegetarian (and in her next life too) and hints that she would rather be a dragonfly. Dragonflies are predatory insects that feed mainly on mosquitoes, flies and bees.
The DVD features an alternate scene where Joe is taking the baby crib apart and packing Emily's things. A light bulb blow, and he goes to get another one. When he returns, the crib is put back together.
