Both Gena Lee Nolin and John Allen Nelson were cast members on the hit TV series Baywatch (1989) which Douglas Schwartz was the co-creator and co-executive producer.
The series is set in Africa, it was shot in Florida, which is surprising considering a lot of syndicated series of the time were filmed in South Africa or other geographically (and financially) agreeable locations.
Former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson said on Instagram that she auditioned for the role of Sheena before Gena Lee Nolin was cast. Her fellow retired Divas Rena Lesnar, Stacy Keibler and Trish Stratus were also considered for the role.
