  • Warning: Spoilers
A criminal gang operating in Greece hides a large shipment of heroine inside a statue. During transportation the statue is stolen, and a member of the gang is sent to discover the culprits. Extended full-frontal female nudity is probably the only reason for "Operation Orient"'s existence. Well, that and the fact that it gave the cast a chance for some nice vacation time in Greece. The film is fairly well shot, but the "story" is a total mess, there's nobody to root for or care about (it's just a bunch of killers and drug dealers trying to out-maneuver each other), the dubbing is poor, and there is practically no action - just people moving from one place to another. Not worth tracking down - you can get both the nudity and the Greek locations in better films. *1/2 out of 4.
  • This film begins with a woman by the name of "Anna" (Rosaria della Femmina) being angry over the fact that her husband "Mario" (Gianni Gori) is having an affair with a young woman named "Yasmine" (Annamaria Clementi). So she decides to leave him. Unfortunately, Mario is a member of a criminal organization in Greece which has recently decided on a plan to smuggle heroin from there to the United States. Since Mario is essentially in charge of this operation the fear is that Anna might know too much which would jeopardize the entire operation. So Mario tells his henchmen to bring her back and if she resists then to kill her. Meanwhile, during the shipment phase of the operation the heroin is stolen by an unidentified group of people. Realizing that his situation within the organization is now at great risk Mario is tasked with finding the group responsible and retrieving the stolen merchandise. What he doesn't know is that there is someone within the organization who was responsible for the theft and that his every move is being closely scrutinized. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was a low-budget crime-drama that featured gratuitous nudity and an extremely abrupt ending which created more questions than it answered. Additionally, although the actors names are shown on the credits they don't list the characters beside them which further adds to the confusion. In short, this was a poorly made film and I have rated it accordingly. Below average.
  • Yes, half of movie good looking chicks waste being good looking in bed, another half these patriotic Greeks spend on killing each other and police holding on waiting for last minute assault so it all looks good in all departments. The problem is words talent, imagination and logic are missing from producer dictionary and so be it--back to combing all the junk.
  • Ilias Mylonakos enjoyably noisome, frantically drug running, fleshly fabulous sleaze-fest 'Operation Orient' (1978) is a wickedly wonky, frequently frothy adventure for actively greazy-minded Grecian Grindhouse completists! And the mucho-macho-mega-groovy artwork hasn't gone unnoticed, dude!!! This heroically hyped-up Hellenic 70s actioner features the delightfully grizzled Euro-cult legend Gordon Mitchell! And the triumphant levels of terrifically titillating tottage is headed by the salty delicious, sun-slaked, majestically Mediterranean, hot-bodied dream Anna Maria Clementi!! Blissful, frequently banging, B-Movie mayhem!
