  • Er, I have absolutely no idea what "Keith" below is talking about, I think he has his wires crossed here.

THE LETTER is a multi-award winning film, directed and written by Anne Delaney, based on the real-life experiences of one Fanny Burney, who in 1812 suffered the indignity and agony of a mastectomy WITHOUT anaesthetic (and you think having a tooth filled hurts?)

Delaney based her script on an actual letter that Fanny sent to her sister that year. The latter is actually narrated by Aussie actress Rachael Blake. Burney herself is played by Skye Wansey.

Beautifully shot by Kathryn Milliss, in fact she won the "Best Cinematography" award at the 2001 St Kilda Film Festival. The film also won the "President's Award" at the 2000 Columbia International Film and Video Festival.

THE LETTER is the type of film that Australia does so well. I recommend anyone who has the chance to see it, to avail themselves of the opportunity.
  • This is a Korean love story about two students who fall in love, marry and about how they deal with a tragedy. Although a touching ending, overall this movie was too cheesy for me--and I enjoy a well done romance.
