Writer Michael J. Wilson has stated on his blog that his daughter Flora came up with the idea for an animal that was a mixture of both squirrel and rat, naming it Scrat, and that the animal was obsessed with pursuing his acorn.
Well, why don't they call it The Big Chill? Or The Nippy Era? I'm just sayin', how do we know it's an Ice Age?

Sid steps in poop with the first step he takes, but in the previous shot, there is nothing within two steps of him.
At one point in the credits it says "Ice Age Babies" and lists all the babies born to the crew during the course of production. This feature is copied from Pixar's animated films, which always list the "Production Babies" during their credits.
