  • Another Italian costume drama/porn movie from genre regular Joe D'Amato. This one's an attempt at a retelling of sorts of the Odysseus storyline, albeit one done on an low budget and with only a couple of sets to play with. Other than a few nifty costumes, this seems to have been filmed on virtually no budget in the Italian countryside.

The plot as written out on the IMDb is more complex than what we get in the film. Ulysses has been enjoying the goddess Calypso for seven years on her island, but she finally lets him go. He's subsequently shipwrecked, and proceeds to tell his new-found friends about his various encounters and adventures. Meanwhile, even Zeus and his buddies are getting in on the sexual shenanigans.

This is very straightforward stuff indeed and not particularly enticing. The acting and dubbing are both very poor and none of the performers are particularly entrancing, with the prettiest being Erica Bella, who plays Circe. Frank Gun, playing Ulysses, has the body of a peplum star and the acting ability of a pantomime player.
