  • "The Movie Show" is a cultural icon for Australians. For 18 years, Margaret and David have rated every movie under the sun, often puzzling viewers with their ratings, and most always puzzling each other.

Phrases like "I give it 3 stars, how about you?" and "David, I don't know what movie YOU were watching..." have been the real reason people watch, for the interplay between Margaret and David.

Sadly, after eighteen years on air, the duo decided to leave SBS (because SBS's programming quality had slipped, and the duo were no longer treated as they had been previously) and are now on the ABC presenting "At the Movies". The new format of "The Movie Show" will never match up to what it once was: a true icon.
  • The Movie Show has been constant entertainment for 15 years as Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton review the latest movies from around the globe. Each of them, with their very different conflicting views of the movies they review, must give a rating out of 5-stars.

It is always fun just to see what they think of the movies that the critics have felt so differently about and it's been a top show since the days when Margaret wore those HUGE earrings and the two of them held up little stars to the days where Margaret's earrings are much smaller and the aid of technology influences the show. But no matter how the years have affected them, that 'Battle of the Sexes' theme will always be there.

This is regular weekly viewing for all Australian movie buffs and is clearly one of Australia's best loved shows!
