Beautifully photographed with beautiful people, this is, however, despite once being sold as a porno, Salon Kitty, no more than a series of couplings. The music is OK and the sex very well shot but not only is there no dialogue apart from a few inept voice over comments, there is no attempt at a story line. Also, not only do the sequences become a bit samey we actually get repeated shots to pad out the running time, which I find really annoying and consider to be lazy film-making. It's only a porno, I know and probably only designed to be watched in short sequences, but then I say, don't dress it up as something it is not. I'm sure Mr D'Amato feels he makes far too many such films to worry too much about anything other than getting the money shots right, but having gone to the trouble of getting the German army and SS uniforms one might have hoped for something with just a little edge, or a little something.

Like his THE JOY CLUB, no-effort Nazi porn from Big Joe

With almost the same cast as his desultory THE JOY CLUB, Joe D'Amato cranked out another all-sex, all-Nazi porn film in OPERATION SEX. Both belong in the pseudonymous "Alexandre Borsky" barrel-bottom section of his filmography rather than as signed works. OPERATION SEX was a duplicate listing in IMDb for the film "Le bambole del führer", which I succeeded at having them merged into a single entry in the database.

This one has SS uniforms rather than regular officers, as various attractive women service the troops. Like nearly all of the Freudian Slip entries in Italian porn using Nazis as subject matter (with the exception of the trailblazing serious works by Visconti and Tinto Brass), it leaves a bad taste having these historically evil iconic figures reduced to mere XXX fodder by the untalented filmmaking sons of former Axis teammates in Fascism. I prefer Italian exposés on Italian subjects -they have plenty to atone for.

All we get here from Joe: Nazis as sex objects. Despite his horror film resume, there's no violence and barely a hint of coercion on screen -just explicit sex acts plus uniforms for your listening and dancing pleasure.

Of course his beautiful actress Erica Bella is diverting in a couple of sex scenes. A muscle-bound stud named Igor is introduced in chains and given an injection in his penis (now that sounds like our old Joe in action) by a lady scientist before she shtupps him. Very poor English dubbing, almost as bad as THE JOY CLUB, delivers zero plot, with the entire storyline taking place in the last two minutes of "action" footage, as Igor and his little sister escape. They run in slo-mo for a pointless final freeze frame, typical D'Amato thumbing his nose at the audience.

Some black & white setup footage is injected, mainly in the earlier reels, but overall this is amateurish, home-movie filmmaking.

Nazi porn without blood

How this film ever got rated over 4 here on the IMDb is beyond me. Apparently only a handful of porn lovers saw it and were impressed. Well, Erica Bella deserves her name, of course, but even she can't save this film.

I had the opportunity to watch it and when I saw the voting results (7.1) I thought I had a gem in my hands. But this movie is extremely disappointing. There is no story at all. Just Italian studs dressed up as German officers. And as soon as they meet a girl, they get them undressed and do the stuff Italian studs are supposed to do best. And this continues to the end of the movie. And for those who love "Women in Prison" movies I have a warning: there is no sadism here. No blood flowing, no flogging, nothing. So don't think this is another Jesus Franco imitation, for it isn't. This is just boring hard core porn all the way through. I think only lovers of Miss Bella will be able to sit this one out.

My vote: 2 out of 10.

# 54 : it's a pity but Nazi always sold

Usually i'm all alone to post reviews for porn movies. Sometimes i met another constant reviewer LOR but that's all. Here there are already 5 reviews and almost put Nazi in their title! So i presume that Nazi arouses a lot of people especially the fetish leather addict or those who like gratuitous violence. That's not my case because i watched it for Erika but i agree with them on the fact that this is a lazy video from Joe d'Amato: sure he likes to do historical porn and he did some really hot scene but here he fails: Erika is as pretty as ever but her action in a cell with a Nazi is poor: not enough space, no kinky lingerie and very fast.

D'Amato does Naziploitation, without a brain

OPERATION SEX is one of the endless hardcore pornographic films made by Joe D'Amato at the tail-end of his career. Some of these have slight merit in terms of style or story, but a lot of them are merely duds, shot on the cheap without anything in the way of originality or indeed imagination. Unfortunately, this film is one of the latter.

This is a Naziploitation film through and through, featuring sadistic Nazi officers conducting experiments on their captives. That's the 'thrust' of the story, so to speak, but in execution this is merely a sequence of humdrum sex scenes involving bored actors overacting and merely going through the expected motions. I find the whole premise quite offensive, but there's zero horror or exploitation content here. When the most interesting thing about your production are the costumes, you know you're in the deepest of trouble.

Another porn film from D'Amato but this here is one of the lazy ones. The film tries to go back to the naziploitation days and is a mild rip of SALON KITTY but there's not even enough story lifted to actually call this a story. Pretty much we see prison guards having sex with various female inmates with one actually being innocent of the crime she was thrown in there for. That's pretty much it for any type of story but we do get some nice cinematography, which is something I've said in just about all of these D'Amato films I've seen. If you're a fan of just sex, sex, sex then this movie will appeal to you. There's really nothing here that you couldn't see in a thousand other movies so I'm going to guess it will mostly be curious D'Amato fans checking this one out. They, like me, will be wishing for his earlier films.
