  • Having established as hardworking non typecast Actor, Kamal again delivers a gem of a acting as a blind violinist. Madhavi rich girl mistakes him only to realize his blindness, befriends and eventually falls in love with him. Comedy from YG Mahendra is worth watching. As some one earlier remarked made before the audience we ready, absolutely true. Even to-date, I am not bored watching this same movie with its variety of scenes, Absolute Brilliant Music score by Illayaraja. You would love to hear "Andhi Mazhai", what I like the most is another slow song titled "Azhagai". Kamal takes it up a notch by acting as a blind person, making audience believe he is really blind. With love blossoming between a beautiful girl and blind musician, society isn't ready for it and so is not girls father. With every body having their own agenda to avert marriage/reunion will they reunite? See the climax to find out what happens... I will definitely give a thumbs up to watch and enjoy this movie and appreciate it.
  • Kamal has been a spectacular actor, no doubt. Only problem is he is NOT a director's actor.

As he has been acting since his 4th birthday, he easily and eagerly mastered almost all the tricks of the trade and naturally, he knows more about direction than many of his directors. Probably that could be the reason why many of top directors prefer to stay away from him after directing him in just one or maximum two movies.

Next to director K Balachander, this movie's director Singatham Srinivasa Rao has directed more films with Kamal.

In this movie, about a blind violinist, Kamal plays very well as Raghu. The dialugues (written by Kamal himself) are sharp and witty.

This is Kamal's 100th movie and the music director Ilayaraja had really paid his tribute well. All the songs are extremely well tuned and Andhi Mazhai (evening rain) is simply one of the best of Ilayaraja's compostions.

Madhavi, Y G Mahendran and the veteran director in L V Prasad in supporting roles did their best to lift the movie to a different level of enjoyment.

Kamal's performance is simply one his career's best.

Really a gem of a movie.

  • Some films just happen. This is one such film. Ahead of its time (probably why it flopped), it's the story of love that blossoms when a rich girl meets a blind violinist. Kamal as the blind guy is incredible, and Madhavi looks celestial. LV Prasad is such a delight, and Ilayaraja's haunting score elevates the film to a new plane. Must-see.

yah! this is one of the kamal's beauty, and it comes along sikkappu rojjakal, guna for the kind of acting, and the special thing in the film is the "world class music composer illayaraja's " brilliant songs and his evergreen bgm,and when it comes to bgm he his second to none in the world, and madhavi's performance was great too, easily her best film, and do you know what amitabh the 'big b' said about this

film - " this is a great movie and it doesn't occur every now and then , but the public have to appreciate these kind of great movies, then only the quality of Indian cinema will reach world class" . so, its really great to hear such a great comment from such a great artist.

and my last word is don't miss this movie,if you are a true film fan.
