A 12-year old boy named Naota one day meets a strange woman, riding a Vespa and wielding a big guitar. As soon as she appears, mysterious things start happening.
Amarao's eyebrows are actually sheets of "nori", dried seaweed that is used in sushi. The nori was digitally scanned into a computer.
Native girl must stop!
In the sequence within the beauty salon, Haruko uses a knife to stop the bullets that the agents are shooting to her. But when the bullets falls to the floor sliced in half, the bullets are still in their shells.
During the end credits of each episode, Haruko is seen pumelling her Vespa and trying to get it to work. She eventually gives up. After the credits end on the first five episodes, there is a brief shot of the Kamon's bakery with Haruko's Vespa parked next to it.
When screened on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim in the US, the ending credits are displayed in untranslated Japanese. The North American DVD however, released by Synch-Point, only has the ending credits translated in English.
