Jayan's only movie with yesteryear's actress Rani Chandra. Rani Chandra is a poor girl. Her marriage with Jayan breaks down when Jayan's family objects to her being uneducated and poor. Later Jayan's re-marries Sheela.
Rani Chandra goes on to higher education and becomes a successful political/intellectual figure in town. As fate might have it, Jayan's family(wife and two kids) is forced to take favors from Rani Chandra. She has her revenge and causes tension in the Jayan marriage.
The scenes involving the trio of Jayan-Rani Chandra-Sheela are very gripping.
