This teleplay was based on a true story.Marie Besnard's story was widely talked about in the French sixties.We will never know whether she was a victim of slander or a criminal.Alice Sapricht was the ideal actress to portray the lady some people of Loudun sometimes used to call "the Good Lady of Loudun".But some other people said she had poisoned members of her family.She was acquitted but who really knows the truth? My best friend's mother told me that ,when I was a little child,me and my pal were playing on a beach and a lady offered us a biscuit.But people warned our mothers "do not let'em take it!it's MARIE BESNARD!" She was perhaps the nice lady of Loudun" after all.
