Sunil Shetty's films in 1990s were mostly with same plots,In late 90s he gave many flops and flops. AAKROSH is a decent film, the suspense is well maintained but sadly the director resorts to clichés and formula ridden stuff to move the film further But yet the way the suspense is unveiled till the end does keep you interested.

Direction is decent Music is okay, the song Hello hello is good

Sunil Shetty who was slowly improving as an actor does a good job, Shilpa Shetty is good too, Suresh Oberoi is superb, Mohan Joshi is as usual, others support well

The film didn't work well when released and gave Sunil Shetty another flop

Lateef Binny's Aakrosh is a good suspense film which works well till the suspense is revealed. After that point, the film just drags for about an hour and finishes. However, the film is well handled for the most part due to good direction, superb acting, and a tight script for the most part.

Aakrosh tells the story of officer Dev Malhotra who is a CBI officer. He is assigned a top secret case in which the Prime Minister is going to be murdered. A thief provides all this information to the CBI and they send their best man, Dev, to solve this case. After several investigations, it is figured out that this conspiracy was hatched in Ooty and this is where the movie becomes inspired by Kindergarten Cop (1990). Who are the killers? Is the Prime Minister going to die? Watch this decent 90s suspense action flick with some dishum dishum to find out.

Direction by Lateef Binny is good because he has handled most of the film effectively. He has ensured that the main plot doesn't get distracted but sadly, there is some trite comedy which distracts the main plot during some parts of the movie. However, for a 90s movie, this is simply superb. The suspense is well maintained till a certain point. After this certain point, the film drags again but the action is good and the decent dialogues keep the movie running till the end, the climax is good.

Sunil Shetty was in top form during the late 1990s and he had improved as an actor by this point. He was doing better action films and these films were good when compared to craps like Raghuveer(1995) and Ek Tha Raja(1996). Sunil doesn't shout and overact terribly like he did in Balwaan(1992) and Anth(1993) and he gives a very mature performance. During the emotional scenes, he overacts a little but his emotional scenes have improved quite a lot. He is no longer the struggler from the early 1990s with the expressionless look, he had improved a lot. Shilpa Shetty is good but she doesn't have much of a role in the entire film. Thankfully, the second half has her doing more than just romancing Sunil Shetty. The actress Tina overacts and she has no major roles, she is killed in a bomb blast during the first half of the film. Suresh Oberoi is brilliant and this is one of his best negative performances. Mohan Joshi is good as the long haired villain in the first half, he looks creepy. As the fake colonel, he does a good job as well. The actor Shiva is good and he is funny when he keeps saying "Shab Kuch Theek Kor Dunga". The rest provide good support.

Anand Raj Anand have done a good job directing the music. Hello Hello Bolke is a good song but my favourite song is Tadke Tsdke which is quite entertaining (the lyrics are a bit crude though). The other songs are good but these are the 2 chartbusters which were appreciated. Action is very good with some fist fighting and lots of gun fights.

On the whole Aakrosh(1998) is a good movie which only falters after the suspense has been revealed. The film released to decent reviews and ended up being a semi hit at the box office.
