  • My 3rd Ari Folman film and I got to believe this guy is a genius and also I got a newfound interest in Israeli films from this. I was surprised to know that this one is a comedy compared to what I've seen from ie Waltz With Bashir and The Congress but that didn't make this stylish comedy any less than the others in the complexity of the subject matter. The generations-long trauma of the holocaust, the form and execution of justice, open borders and the migrations everything is a part here through different layers. The conflicts and drama created by the characters in this criminally underseen film are always portrayed hilariously without demeaning any of it.
