  • Y.M.I. is a poorly researched, scattered portrayal of the adolescent underworld and Goth lifestyle. For such a dark subject, it's dramatically over-acted and the plot tries way too hard to keep you guessing. The movie follows three "Goth" teenagers on a mission to taste all that life has to offer before committing suicide in a way that will shock their way into fame after death. Believing that they will avoid the mundane reality of life and live forever as immortals, they think of anything they haven't done before and try their best to experience their morbid curiosities. Resembling the style of David Lynch, Y.M.I. has scattered and irrelevant sub plots, desperately attempting to lure viewers with random pornographic scenes and unexplained cliff hangers which are never fully understood. Unfortunately, the only claim to fame Y.M.I. might achieve is on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 ... oh, wait, they canceled that show. Too bad.
