    "A Mighty Sailor Is He"

I watched this cartoon as a kid and liked it. I remember part of the theme song: "...he pulls it tight, and one, two three, a might sailor is HE, a mighty sailor is HE." Of course it is the BELT that he pulls tight!

One of the few actual cartoons I actually remember is when he was on Mars, and despite the strength of 50 men after pulling his belt tight, he still could not best them.

If it is ever available on VHS, LD, DVD, I would not mind buying a copy.

    Another Cartoon of My Youth

I remember getting up early every morning to see reruns of this series on one of the local stations here. This cartoon definitely came out of the era when Hanna-Barbera was producing a lot of adventure/super hero shows featuring teenagers who gained super powers either by holding a club aloft, touching a couple of bracelets together or (in Sinbad Jr.'s case) tightening his belt. The thing that really made this show fun was Sinbad's "buddy", Salty the Parrot. Of course, he was voiced by the legendary Mel Blanc and that's what made this show so memorable for me. Too bad they don't show this on reruns or that it hasn't been released on DVD. This definitely was a wild show.

Nothing left but a happy memory

I remember clear as a bell the pulling of the belt and his parrot salty.

These were main stays of my cartoon pleasures as a kid in the late 60's.

I would love to find a copy of any of these episodes anywhere.

I did not know was called "Sindbad Junior" but thinking about the character that makes sense.

I need 10 lines of text, but only have 3 lines of memorys...I just know those days, along with those cartoons are and will be the best days I ever lived. I waited 17 years between my first and second child, and now I am old enough to really see through my second child's eyes what it is to live in a world of unconditional love and happiness....Sinbad recalls those times for me.
